Something I've wondered about for years - do you think the band ever recorded the 'fast' version of "We Will Rock You" in the studio, apart form the BBC session? Even a decent rehersal of it?

Nothing beats the BBC version but I'd love to hear an actual NOTW recording during those sessions if they did indeed record one!!!

Maybe a rehearsal exists on tape, but it definitely wasn't tracked for NOTW. WWRY itself was almost an after-thought - it was the last thing completed for the album, in just a few hours. Brian is quoted saying so in a radio interview not long after the album was released.
The idea that WWRY was done as a grand scheme alongside WATC is revisionist history (not least because the latter dates back to 1975).
