Here's Brian sneaking in the Great King Rat lick during the Sweet Lady solo. He just loved to throw this lick in some versions of Liar over the years, but it's a treat to hear it on this song, which oddly works.
A mind-melting Jailhouse Rock solo. This is very similar to a moment from Nagoya 75's version which Ryan posted earlier on in the thread.
An INCREDIBLY unique moment from a Now I'm Here reprise. I can't get enough of this - words cannot describe.

While I was listening to the Wembley '78 shows with a few friends, I noticed something during Brian's solo spot during 5/11 that sounds very similar to the outro of I'm In Love With My Car. I don't know of any other version where he's done this, and it's pretty cool: Here's how it sounds in the studio version:

Neat !
Could be a coincidence as G / A / D is a pretty common chord progression on the guitar, but well spotted either way.

Definitely could be, although the rhythm of how he plays the chords is very similar too, which was really what convinced me it was the outro of IILWMC.

Here for my contribution while we are on the subject of references :
When I first heard this it reminded me of one specific moment in a specific song...
Same chords !!!
I'm not sure if it is intentional or not but I love it !

My favorite little Queen moment and what I think... is the first one for John in the spotlight!!! (Unless I have missed one from him that has already been mentioned...) And that is... This nice little tidy, melodic bass solo gem that Deaks does on 'In the Lap of the Gods...' Blink and you miss it as it's nestled amongst that distinctly Brian humming solo and the last of Freddie's little "duet" that complements Rogers screams.... John in this amazing live capture reminds me of the young Cliff Burton (The images of Cliff without the headbanging) That real cool in the grove and in the zone rare moment of John captured... All he needs is a smoking joint in his bass strings to really complete the scene....
Not sure if this works but listen 2:10 onwards

Oh man, this solo is just breathtaking. Sounds like he's playing one of those Japanese songs at one point. There are one or two sour moments but they ultimately don't take away from this piece. Brian is totally in the zone.

This thread hasn't been too active as of lately, but since I've been listening to EU Game the last couple of days I've noticed some great little things that I've never (or rarely) seen being talked about.
I love how Freddie drags "all you have to do is fall in love" in this last chorus of Play the Game:
I have never earned Brian begin Now I'm Here like this:
A superb Play the Game solo:
A very creative and loose improv before Death on Two Legs:
Brian slightly changing up the solo of Need Your Loving Tonight (never thought I would say that):
And - for a small change - a superb moment from Now I'm Here (until 26:30):

I love how Freddie drags "all you have to do is fall in love" in this last chorus of Play the Game: Even when he's completely off script he still sounds amazing. He was truly one in a billion.
He was once offered a Broadway / West End gig, but stamina issues aside, things like this have me thinking he would've never cut it because he'd be far too spontaneous and creative (read: stubborn) for that kind of environment.

the guitar work is very similar here, what more to say though, these are two of my favorite solos (with Rotterdam's being my all-time favorite) ever performed for the song.
