Can someone explain how to attach files to a post? All I can find is insert image button, witch allows me to insert url, but not my own files. I'm probably missing the obvious, but please indulge me. cheers

you can't. this is a free proboards forum, therefore we have no server-based storage.
upload your file to your own googledrive/mega or similar and paste the share link in your post.

OK, thanks not sure how to to that but I'll figure something out. It's at occasions like this I feel way too old (**,)
I've tried to upload the photos (jpeg) from Mega but all I get is a question mark. They're in Shared Items/Public Links, so that should be good, I think. Any advice?

You need to use the full Reply editor (not the Quick Reply box), then click the Image icon and it will ask for the link to your image, which you will have got from your upload host. That said, I've never got Mega to work for images, and haven't tried Google Drive, but the above is what you need to do.

What other upload hosts can I try? It does work when I upload images from queenlike.ca for example but I like to know how to use my own.

I've created my own server and can just upload my pictures there, open the link and use it here. Though if you don't already have discord, I wouldn't use it just for this, just an added benefit of using it.

imgur.com is a good resource to use for free image hosting.

Now what would be the best forum to post these covers I'd like to share? I would suggest starting a new thread in this forum, and then if they need to be moved we can do so later.

It only does that if the file size is too big, max 8MB

I tested with a PNG instead of a JPEG without any meta data, and the image after uploading is the exact same file as the one before uploading. Edit to add: I now uploaded a JPEG without any meta data and it came out as the exact same file as uploaded.
