Hey everyone, my next enstallment in the Live vs. Overdubs series is almost complete, and I am looking for some feedback before making it public.
Just looking for any more overdubs I've missed, spelling errors or whatever. Also, this video has been a bitch to try and upload because it keeps getting blocked worldwide, even though I'm using clips shorter than 30 seconds and I'm well within the Fair Use act. So I have had to dispute this claim so you can watch this unlisted video.
Pisses me off a little because you can go onto YouTube and find many, many other videos of full concerts and songs which don't get blocked, and my video containing SHORT CLIPS of songs gets blocked... I have always felt targeted since the days when I uploaded the Full Audience Recordings... Anyway, hopefully they agree to keep this video live for a bit until I get some feedback.

I have always felt targeted -Chin It's a bastard but you probably are being targeted for videos like this, it's in a record companies best interest to get this type of video taken down as it highlights "artificial alterations" to their product. The fact that they corrected Freddies muddled vocals in somebody to love but left Rogers double "Yeah" in is quite baffling. I can't see anything obvious you've missed but the Lyric for Now I'm Here is "on in my eye" not "all in my eye". One thing i hadn't realised is that there is a lot more footage is in the We Will Rock You version.
-------------------- "Now Freddie do you think you could give us the worst second verse of Now I'm Here you've ever performed? You were so good on the night that we need to overdub it to sound like you are singing with laryngitis." - Saul Swimmer 1981.

But I've never had an issue before with any of the other videos, but everytime I upload it, it gets dinged for Copyright, so I trim down what was found and when I upload it again it gets hit again in a different spot. They even go as far as claiming the 'Rock Montreal' clip and then the 'WWRY' release clip after it, claiming it's one long 1 min clip... Then there's QueenHouse85 who seems to be able to upload anything without trouble.

I would say It absolutely falls under the Fair dealing exception to UK copyright law (We don't have fair use law, so watch how you word any reply to them about "fair use"), so you have a case, it's being used in "research" and "review" of the concert and to aid in differentiating between versions of the concert.

I could see this possibly passing as review/criticism which is indeed allowed, Tom Scott made a great video on it.
Only thing I'd suggest adding are the 2 overdubs made for TV airings (censoring the times Fred said fuck), I ripped it a while back but I've lost it since then. If anyone still has it please pm me.

Here I found 2 possible mistakes, and I say possible because I may have misunderstood something. If that's the case, if someone could explain me what did I misunderstand, it would be appreciated. Thanks for sharing it btw!
1. (1:14) in "Freddie's vocals from the night", it doesn't specify from which night it's talking about.
2. (1:45), where the "No video for this section" was still showing when there was video, and it disappears when the top text changes to the first night (1:50).

This is great! My only feedback would be, I don't think you need to keep the clips playing past the moment that you are talking about. The quicker the clips transition from one version to another, the easier it is to compare them.
E.g. When you talk about Freddie singing the phrase "Save Me" in the chorus of Save Me, cut to the next version ASAP rather than showing him sing 'I can't face this life alone".
Really good work - enjoying watching it!

youtu.be/UNHWegUn-gg?t=269 (4:29) shouldn't the top text change to "Queen Productions Studio 2007" ? or possibly "Montreal /81/11/25" ?

I just found an overdub/correction on the Rock Montreal release during Play The Game:
In the Surround Sound Pre-Overdubbed Mix and the WWRY release, (5:09 and 5:22 respectively) Freddie sings the word "heart", but his voice cuts slightly; it's easier to spot this on the WWRY release.
Meanwhile, in the Rock Montreal release (5:35), this doesn't happen.

Ok, this should be the final version now, just made some changes to the text during Love Of My Life and Jailhouse Rock.

Ok, this should be the final version now, just made some changes to the text during Love Of My Life and Jailhouse Rock. -Chin Wow, it's amazing, what you have discovered analyzing nearly every single bar. I sometimes restore recordings and "remove" even single handclaps. In the end I get a nice result - but I'm fed up with listening to the recording.... So can you still enjoy that concert?
As a viewer of your video I must admit, that after ten minutes I have a "system overload". Reading your words, watching a split screen and listening to the different audios is a bit fast sometimes, too much information. Less could be more - but I can only speak for myself.
Generally I don't mind when they overdub or correct little things. A concert is first of all played for the audience in the hall. Little mistakes happen and may not even be noticed at all. The lights...the crowd around you...the loudness...there is so much happening. On video things are different. You get a clear sound and every little mistake is noticed.
I remember seeing that original movie in a cinema and it was terrible. It was played much too fast. So I'm glad, that in the end the later DVDs corrected that.
And it's amazing to see in your video what else they did, how much work they also put into many details. Maybe a bit too much. When I watch the final version on DVD it works fine. But when I listened to the audio-version on CD, I somehow didn't enjoy it. Something's missing, maybe it's too perfect....
