There are four interviews (one with each of the four band members) on YouTube, allegedly recorded on January 18th, 1977 in Detroit. Here's Brian's interview for reference.
It's clear when you listen to them, that these interviews are not done for radio, but for an article in a music magazine - unfortunately it doesn't say which, but I'd like to find out. I suspect it's Creem, since they featured Queen on the cover in May that year along with what seems like a pretty bad review x. Unfortunately, I don't have that article, so I can't say if it matches with the recordings. Incidentally, Creem was based in Detroit, so that might explain why the video is labelled as such. Also, at the very beginning of his interview, Brian chats to them about an article they ran about Queen, and Queen appeared in Creem January 1977, so that would fit.
Now, about the time and place: The interviewer says at one point that the Marx Brother's film "Duck Soup" was on TV the other night, and Brian asks "What here? On American television? In Boston" (around 15:45), so it seems like the attribution to Detroit - and therefore the date as well - is incorrect. Freddie asks the interviewer about the show they played "last night" (at 25:00 here), so I assume that the interview was actually done in Boston on the 10th of February (they played there on the 9th).
By the way, Roger's interview has been transcribed here, labelled Boston, but not dated.
Does anyone have thoughts or additional info about this?

Good detective work.
If you're really keen you can search for the TV listings from that month and find where/when Duck Soup was on.
