Los Angeles 1978, Neal Preston. Some discussion around this photo led to us identifying it as Los Angeles. Basically, the logic is that Fred has shoes on instead of slippers, which eliminates anything prior to December 6th. Fred also has those shiny suspenders on rather than the red ones, but every other city from Dec 6th onwards we have photos of and he's wearing the red ones in all of them, leaving LA as the only possibility for this photo. Could be from any of the three nights. We also know that Neal Preston was present on the last night of the tour due to the Superman shots, so it's likely this is December 20th.

Another shot from Los Angeles 1978. I assume this is also a Neal Preston shot but I can not confirm that.

1978-12-03 Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto [photographer unknown] Stage invasion of a young female fan during Queen's first Toronto show of 1978! I never saw these pics before. I can't find them in a better quality.

^^ Interesting pics. To clarify (if needed): Dec.3 '78 was the 1st of 2 Queen shows in Toronto on the Jazz Tour (the 2nd was the following night), not their 1st ever Toronto show. According to Wikipedia, they previously played MLG on Feb. 1, 1977.

I'm aware of a set of photos from the Saturday night show Liverpool 79. There are 15 or 16 in all from a local schoolboy (at the time) photographer who photographed many gigs at the Empire Theatre
If I can get his permission to post I will do so.

This nice photo has been uploaded on Queen social media, taken by Neal Preston. Looks like News of the World US Tour, so November or December 1977. Anyone able to identify the venue?

1979-??-?? location unknown (1979 Japan tour?) Photographer: Allan Ballard. I found this picture labeled as 1977 (obviously incorrect); I believe it was taken during the the Japanese tour of 1979 (the 'Jazz' logo on the bass drum is clearly visible). I don't know of any occasion Freddie wore this outfit in Europe, so I believe this photo may have been taken at the end of one of the Japanese shows. Allan Ballard also took some pictures of Queen on the 'Crazy Tour' in late 1979, but the logo on Roger's bass drum was different during that tour.

The Jazz album drum skin appeared a little later in the tour.

The Jazz album drum skin appeared a little later in the tour. The first few shows of Jazz '78 did have the Jazz logo on the Drum Kit, but then for some reason the bass skin was swapped to the News Of The World robot until the end of the North American leg. The photo could be therefore from those early few shows.

^^^ You know in all these years I hadn’t noticed the Jazz logo on the bass drum on those first 3 or 4 shows!
