On Easter monday in his third Instagram live stream, the former DoRo director Rudi Dolezal announced a new Queen related project totally involving him. He added that in the last days was in contact with Brian May to talk about it, but of course cannot tell anything more at the moment. I saved the Q&A video from the IG stream and posted here on CQI FB page (in case anyone would like a watch by him/herself): (around and after min. 13... You are not superstitious, right?  )
Should not be any re-release, since in the same Q&A and the week before he already spoke about his hope to have "Magic Years" and "Untold Story" in better home video quality; and neither an extended version of the "One Vision documentary", because he also said the story about bringing it to the OIQFC convention back in 1986 (or later) and added nothing more. I posted this thread merely for the records and future updates. P.S.: I didn't know that FB links become automaticly embeds. Great! |

Yes - I imagine it'll be a documentary around the recording of the album and creation of the videos to accompany whatever box set is released. I just hope they don't "frankenstein" a disc of out-takes as they did with the NOTW box; knoing Brian, though, there's little chance of it just being a straight release of demos and out-takes as opposed to a re-creation of the original album........ I'd love to hear something from the very first set of studio rehearsals they did after getting back together. From memory, didn't they rattle off a number of covers to warm themselves up? |

I guess this is an upside to the corona-crisis: since all touring is off, the guys have the time for (and a financial interest in...) working on some new releases. I'm certainly curious to see what's going to come out of this!

I guess this is an upside to the corona-crisis: since all touring is off, the guys have the time for (and a financial interest in...) working on some new releases. I'm certainly curious to see what's going to come out of this! Let's just hope it doesn't end up as one big let down. |

More behind the scenes footage of making the videos for The Miracle would be amazing especially for the Breakthru video. IMO this was one of the last happiest group shots they ever did - Freddie looked well throughout.

IMO this was one of the last happiest group shots they ever did - Freddie looked well throughout. I agree. I'm dissapointed he didn't give an interview like the rest of the band did that day. At least the entire band gave a wonderful interview to Mike Reid the previous month. |

IMO anything is better than nothing. The NOTW demos are still a good listen either way. I think it’s generally accepted they don’t want to go the whole distance and release demos as they were or do the intended anthology. Either way, it’s an interesting period in Queen history and there are some good leftovers to release officially. On another note, thank the lord there is a forum to discuss these things without the clowns who ruined Queenzone! |

How is the relation between Queen and Do.Ro. now? I think one of the last things Queen-related they did was the documentary "The Untold Story".
Rudi, one of the guys of DoRo (also known as "Torpedo Twins") had a TV show called "Dolezal Backstage" on the austrian TV channel "ServusTV" where he talked about the projects and showed some unreleased footage as well.
Here is a little selection what was broadcasted:
- the story about the "Breakthru" video (no exclusive footage) - the making of "I'm Going Slightly Mad" (a little bit different footage to what the "40 Jahre Queen" documentary showed)
(40 Years Of Queen, 2014 documentary, german channel VOX) - the shooting of "Living On My Own" (exclusive footage) - how "Under Pressure" was made (mostly talking) - a special about Freddie (can't remember the content, but it was likely a sum up of the things above)
Maybe someone here has the recordings of the broadcast. I had them once but the files were too big to export and I deleted them later on...

How is the relation between Queen and Do.Ro. now? It seems good. I mean, at least from what Rudi said lately. He talked also about being at the movie premiere in London, talking and congrats with Jim, Bri and Rog. Asked Jim if he minded to re-release Untold Story (and he replied not, because the real story is so different from the movie and of course people could get confused). Now he said the thing above, that he's in contact with Bri and QP. So, I think it's all fine. |
