I'd say 'Guide Me Back' is beautiful. Also 'The Kiss'.

I need to mention 'Don't Try So Hard' which is an absolute masterclass in singing.

This is one of my favorites !!!! πππ i posted the MK one thinking it couldn't be topped. but this is stunning. at 5:51 - that note: incredible. it's stupid i know, but i (kind of) ignored Montreal for years - having played it to death decades ago! i will never tire of hearing STL live or studio. along with "Nevermore" - Freddie' singing at its finest. FWIW - my favourite bootleg audio is from Seattle 77 (the old Duck Soup) tape - i even love the voice crack @ 3:44 ("lu-u-y-u...uve") this thread could be titled Favourite Freddie Vocal Moments: Somebody To Love - find the ultimate.seriously great choice of post! Montreal is one of my favorites live shows. Great video quality and great Freaddie's voice!!! π

The whole of It's Late, but particularly: "Let the fire take our bodies this night... Let the waters take our guilt in the tide"
Absolutely. And accompanied by the choir of backing vocals not in the previous two choruses. That half minute of music is one of the most glorious spots in the entire Queen catalog. 25 years later I still get chills through the spine even just thinking about it (including while I'm writing this).
I feel the same way about the peak of White Queen, where the calm but tense atmosphere suddenly explodes into a cluster of guitars and voices. It still gets me every time. This is absolute mastery of composition and arrangement, and mastery of the usage of the studio as an instrument in itself.

Fantastic description. Couldn't have said it better. All the subtle details, Freddie's fantastic vocal performance, and Brian's tapping technique guitar solo, all reasons why It's Late is my ALL TIME favourite Queen song.

Here's Freddie's BEST nailing of the Somebody To Love Ab4 to Bb4 vocal slide. JAW DROPPING moment. 1:18 if the video timestamp doesn't work when you click it.

I need to mention 'Don't Try So Hard' which is an absolute masterclass in singing. Absolutely draining song to sing. Beautiful mixed voice technique used by Freddie in that song.

In My Defence, my all-time favourite song, has that amazing phrase (how can I try to right the wrong) in the final chorus that is just mindblowing. Along with already mentioned Show Must Go On of course, powerful singing highlights worth mentioning on top of my head are Gimme The Prize ending (I am the god of kingdom come) and the brutal in-your-face intro to Love Is The Hero and most of the Who Wants To Live Forever choruses... could write a few hundred more, though but to be honest, those are mostly referring to his high notes, I think Freddieβs highlights are actually in his heartfelt interpretations and prhasing, regardless of killer-notes. Iwas always amazed by the crisp sibilants (especially the letter s) that always punch through the mix like a razor, live or in studio. Such a valuable asset for a vocalist.

I like the penultimate chorus of play the game, where Freddie really squeezes out βPlay the gaaaaaaaaAAAAAAMMMME of loveβ

My favourites always included live versions of Somebody to Love- when he was really up for it. Sometimes he killed it, other times he skated through depending on his vocal strength on the night. I would see him sing it on back to back nights and night one was always a winner, night two usually average. White Queen live was always sung perfectly in terms of both pitch and emotion. Just beautiful.

One particular moment I love from Freddie is during the Crazy Tour, he would sing that "I still love youuuuuuuuuuu" line on Love Of My Life with clean mixed voice with a bit of sustain to it. He teased it on a couple of the UK 1978 shows and Dallas 1978, but he really goes for it by the Crazy Tour.

With Queen, it's this moment from Hammersmith '79 near the end of the vocal improv in NIH. It's hard to believe that his one of his best and worst vocal performances happened in one year, and on that gig, we're seeing Freddie's voice just about to enter a new phase.
For Solo, it's a tie between EnsueΓ±o and Guide Me Home/How Can I Go On.

This is almost an impossible task lol. Where to actually begin (without re-re-repeating some already mentioned)?
The entirety of Save Me from Rock Montreal The opening of Somebody To Love from Milton Keynes The opening of Rock It (Studio) "Yes I Know it's a long hard fight" in the middle of the extended version of It's a Hard Life His vocals on the Innuendo album, and Mother Love, considering the pain he was in and how tired he would have been
Just to name a few of about 100,000,000 Freddie moments.
