So who is it that said Deacon suffered from depression the whole time? Was it Roger? Mack said it. As far as I can remember he used the word "depressiv" in relation with John and beeing the quiet guy in the band. And since he jumps on board in 1979, that greatly changes the initial assessment that he was depressed "the whole time."

Sorry, I must add that he told in the 40 year edition something like " here you can see what 30 years of alcohol and anti depressiva pharmacy can do to a person" I think I wrote that on the "other forum" back then. Would be nice if someone cut the interview pieces into one part for each person. Makes things much easier to look after.

These things - especially with so many years of hindsight, and subject to the inherent flaws in memory that we're all guilty of - should almost always be taken with a pinch of salt.
