Would anyone be able to record this? -Chin I can record it. But I don’t know, how to make it available for others. Uploading on YT won’t work, they will delete it immediately. It’s also very long, almost 4 hours (ads included). If nobody else is doing it, I will record it. And then I will see, what to do with that file. I‘m sure, someone will be able to help.

I don't believe so, VOX was the channel it was originally broadcast on and it's a German based station. -Chin

If that's the only section of interest, then I'd be fine if that was all that was posted.
No doubt the file will be big, unless much quality is compromised.

I will capture the HD stream from their website. Sadly recordings are encrypted on my TV, so recording it through my TV wouldn't help.

I read they also included parts of an interview with Adam Lambert. In the TV programe it's mentioned exclusive that the band has a new frontman to tour with. So be prepared for footage from the recent days and months, too. Kind regards, W.

When you make a documentary about 50 years of Queen, you shouldn’t leave out the last 10 years.

I saw the broadcast this afternoon and must say it's worth watching it. It's interesting to listen to Mack, Ratty, Phoebe and Rudi Dolezal and their views to the past from nowadays. Mack for example talks about the pressure working with Bowie together with Queen in the Studio and how Bowie tought Brian and Roger how to Play their Instruments. So you can understand why Dr. May remembers this meeting with a difficult mood. I would like to see the interviews uncut, especially the ones with Ratty (His book Queen-unseen is great) and Mack. Of Course you see many well known footage but the storytelling is fine. I can't remember wrong facts except that they cut it like "Let Me Live" were Freddies last taped vocals (Rod Stewart would deny it!) and again there's the so called last ever interview Freddie gave although he just spoke it to the last interviewer of the day. So I had a great time to revisit the legend and some footage snippets were new to me. But the best for me were the intervies while seeing how the witnesses of the old days aged quiet well. I wasn't able to record the broadcast and hope the volunteers managed to grap it. Kind regards, W.

I watched it as well and recorded it on my receiver. Since 2 other fans said, they would record it as well, I didn’t record it on my computer (yet). IF no one else got it AND people want to see it, I could get it onto my computer and share it. But it’s really a looong video with 3+ hours. And in German. The beginning (first 15-20 minutes) was a bit off for me, because they constantly jumped all through these 50 years. I think it was to give casual viewers an overview of what to expect from this documentary. But still weird, because 5 minutes would have been enough for that. After that, the story telling went from the beginning up to 2020. Most of it was footage, that I had seen before in other documentaries. I think most of the talks were new though. Roger had a big part and talked about the time from the beginning until now. Brian’s parts were old. Then there was a lot of very interesting new (at least for me) stuff from Reinhold Mack. And, as someone said before, Ratty and Phoebe (not that much) gave their views on parts of the story as well. I too enjoyed hearing the bits about the work with Bowie. The storytelling of the Queen story from 1970 to 1996 (No one but you) was really enjoyable to watch. What I thought felt off, was, how they squeezed in the last 23 years of Queen. I know, it’s not the main part, but 15 minutes for all the stuff from the Tribute concert, the Musical, Queen+Paul Rodgers and Queen+Adam Lambert was too short. They actually took the Tribute concert and the documentary „The Show must go on“ and picked short bits of the footage and interviews out of it and put it together, often out of context. The Queen+Paul Rodgers era got about 1 Minute. The musical 2. It felt like they jumped from 1991 to 2011, because time was off. But that’s my only criticism. Otherwise it was a great watch and I even watched the repeat this afternoon.

Thanks for recording it ! Of course the files will be most welcome here, but for those of us not fluent in German it may not be an easy watch. Is there anyone who could add subtitles, or maybe just do this for the parts that offer something new?
Even just a text transcription of the new bits will be plenty enough for many of us, so if someone's willing to do that, that'd be much appreciated.

I saw on the German fanforum, that most of the documentary wasn’t new, but part of a similar 40 year documentary. I don’t know that one. Maybe someone can tell more about it? I think I will check that out on YT to see, what was actually new. Or if it was just a Mix or the old one with the QAL documentary.

I couldn`t watch it in full, but from what I saw your summary is correct. Good TV ratings btw about 1.95 Mio in peak. Pretty good numbers for a smaller network like VOX.

I was at the Queenzone forum yesterday asking about an upload of this, it would be greatly appreciated! 🙏
EDIT: I did stream it and tried to listen to whatever is audible under the dubbing (aside from that I didn't understand any of it), and thought that Roger's interviews were familiar but I couldn't remember exactly where they were from?

So who is it that said Deacon suffered from depression the whole time? Was it Roger?

So who is it that said Deacon suffered from depression the whole time? Was it Roger? I am also curious as to whether his depression was as bad in the 70's as it was in the 80's & beyond. Did John have his "emerald bar" courtousy of Ratty while touring in the 70's to help him "self-medicate" his depression and social anxiety?
I can't imagine being overseas for months at a time living in hotel rooms while suffering from depression.

I'd imagine it got worse in the 80s. They seemed like a tight unit up until about Jazz / The Game, but then the band started to fracture, which probably made the road even harder for him.
