Not sure whether this thread is in the right section.
Just wondering whether Queen gave a private performance a la We are the Champions after recording the video for Friends will be Friends? The stage and instruments were there and besides it was prior to the Magic tour so it could have been a good rehearsel.

Not that’s been reported. Jacky Smith of the fan club said everyone got a T-shirt saying something inane like “I’M A QUEEN FRIEND”.
Also, I believe JVC Studios, where the video was shot, was where the band were already rehearsing for the tour. The video itself seems kind of like an afterthought.

I was at the video shoot and rather unhelpfully left before the end. I heard no reports of any private performances and don’t recall any of the instruments being live. I did however read that I missed out on a t-shirt.

Hi all. I was there at the shoot also and stayed until the end and I can confirm that there was definitely no live show. Yes, they did give us all a white T-shirt with "I'm A Friend of Queen" printed in red on it - you didn't miss out on much mevansnow - I dont think I kept mine. I did manage to catch one of Roger's sticks that he threw into the crowd at the end - that I have kept.
