An interesting discussion in the thread about the boxset that'll probably never happen prompted me to open this one.

Queen's album covers seem to be very divisive among the fanbase and i would like to go deeper into the subject tbh.

For me the top tier of their covers is and find these the most iconic of the bunch:

Queen II
ANATO
NOTW
Hot Space
Innuendo

Mid tier would be:

Queen
Jazz
Live Killers
Hot Space
AKOM
Live Magic
MiH

Bottom tier, really don't care for these:

SHA
ADATR
The Game
The Works
The Miracle

Maybe they just put ADATR so low because it's kind of a dark mode version of ANATO. I know that it has significant differences compared to ANATO, but it seems like they mostly just reused the same concept, so maybe The Fairy King didn't wanna put 2 similar ones in the top tier, and instead just put the first one there. But I agree with you, ADATR is good artwork as well.

Hot space/the works (a great photographer did avbeautiful work, I wonder if there is a colored photo of the cover, also I like the promo photos of 1984).

GH also has very beautiful and natural photo.

My favs are News Of The World, Jazz and The Game. As posted above, I’m not a fan of any of the live album covers.
