Did anyone ever play the game The eYe? Awful game but the book came with discs of the soundtrack which often featured slightly different mixes.

Yeah, it wasn’t the best game. I think it took so long to make that it was outdated by a mile when it finally surfaced.
I’ve got the game and uploaded the tracks from CDs to my iTunes library. Some good versions of some songs.

I tried to play it for about an hour.
Struggled to control my character (FPS have never been my thing) and therefore got killed by the first opponent I encountered.
Every time.

I always desperately wanted it but it was barely sold in the States and my mom had a Mac, which it wasn’t compatible with. I was always jealous because I thought the graphics looked beautiful (I still love the sci-fi imagery of the original Queen website) and wanted to hear the different mixes. (I have since heard the remixes and was properly whelmed.)

It’s not a bad game. It’s just a pain in the ass to play now a days on stuff like windows 10 & 11. The remixes are great and definitely the highlight. I’m almost positive they just took this story and slightly modified it to make the musical.

Bought it for the soundtrack. Never could get into the game. You can watch the playthrough on YT nowadays and seems i didn't really miss a thing.

never played it, seemed like the shine/appearance wasn't really backed by a user-friendly game engine. much easier to play the better FPS games of the time, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Heretic, Serious Sam etc. although, did manage to get the soundtrack.
it's a curious thing though, I have 60 music files, Discogs lists 57 and Ultimate Queen site lists 76 (total) + 17 that never appeared in the game. all very odd, because there's another site (can't find it now) that claims 190 remixed/instrumental Queen tracks.

Bought the game with the book and all the music as a bargain years after the release, tried to play it a couple of times, but it was awful.

I don't mind the dated graphics - I still enjoy Half-Life But what the heck were they trying to do with the camera? From the playthrough on YouTube it Looks almost unplayable!

Someone reviewed a 25 year old game that didn't sell very well at the time...last week? ? That's just weird

Thanks - I enjoyed this nostalic "review" video, as I knew virtually nothing about this obscure Queen videogame.
Interesting in how the game attempted to use MOCAP for facial expressions way back nearly 25 years ago. The graphics of the game seem to be very detailed for that timeframe.
The official book definitely sounds better than this chaotic and confusing game ... a game from late 90s that was too ambitious to work with the existing technology at the time.
Coincidentally. I am currently nostagically replaying my first PC videogame, Betrayal at Krondor (published in 1993). Boy, do the pixilated graphics suck, with just green for grass, gray for mountains with a few "tree icons" thrown in to attempt to alleve the monotony. The rotating camera view works decently, but is very slow. The story is decent, and hopefully will make replaying this game worthwhile.

There was fun browser version of Pac-Man a while back where it's first person POV and plays creep music. Good for a light scare. Just can't find it anymore.
