Army veteran Capt Tom Moore has completed 100 laps of his garden, having raised more than £12m for NHS workers. After reaching his target, completed with a guard of honour from the 1st Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment, the 99-year-old said he felt “fine” and that he was glad to be “surrounded by the right sort of people”. Knighthoods are totally meaningless, because it's now given to any celebrity who has been in their field for a few decades.
But if anyone deserves one it's a WWII army veteran who is still doing his bit for his country at the age of 100, this should be exactly who the honours are reserved for.

To think, he's raised almost as much in two to three days as a footballer earns in a whole week! 🙄🤔

It's an amazing achievement when you think about his original plan. I just hope that as he plans to do extra laps of his garden, that he doesn't overdo it because of the global support, I hope he doesn't feel forced to do more because what he already done is outstanding.

I think he's said he'll continue as long as the money keeps coming in, but hopefully it would continue for a while after he stopped. |
