Tonight is Queen night on Dancing with the Stars. This is also on ABC, and features some of the same “performers” that are on Thursday’s Queen singalong. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 30 Queen Night Songs & Dances Revealed
I would have thought with all this exposure here in the States that there would be a new release available but I would have thought wrong. |

There isn't as much exposure over here as there is in many other parts of the world. No idea. But with Brian’s rerelease and Roger’s new release it just seems like a missed opportunity that there are 3 hours of prime time network tv focusing on Queen and no Queen product to plug. They don’t even have a scheduled tour over here to promote. |

Anyone watch last night's Dancing With the Stars and what were your thoughts? I recorded it and just put it on. I’ve been pleasantly surprised. All the outfits are Queen inspired, and there’s more than just a bunch of yellow jackets and mustaches. They used a creatively edited version of Don’t Stop Me Now, but Fat Bottomed Girls was a cover. There’s a whole lotta love from everyone toward Queen, which is really nice to hear. Of course I’m old so I don’t know who most of the celebrities are, sorry. So far there’s been an ad for the Queen Family Singalong during each of the ad breaks. And the second one mentioned this will be “an epic celebration of the legendary rock band’s 50th anniversary.” |

I thought it was awful, and the amount of autotune on everyone's voice didn't help matters. I did like Fall-Out Boy's cover of Under Pressure (I wish I could hear that without the autotune and that stuff tho) |

Once again I'd like to ask if anyone watched the Family Sing-along last night and what were their thoughts? I did as well... Thought it was awful, I was quite surprised to not see Brian and Roger appear, at least for a "Hello and thank you" kind of deal... Adam (with his friend heavy studio processing) showed exactly why he's probably the most talented male vocalist out there, save for maybe Matt Bellamy of Muse...I thought Under Pressure was an unusual choice for Fall Out Boy, their vocalist (forgot his name) pulled it off better than I expected. Pentatonix (Adam's friend returns) was decent... Darren Criss kinda reminded me of mid-1982 Freddie, oversinging BoRhap. Jojo Siwa was pretty bad at one of the easiest songs to sing in the band's library... I think the most disappointing aspect (besides Miss Piggy, that was just a cheap-shot) was the lack of musicianship, if you will... Don't Stop Me Now (sounded like if I went into audacity and did some "cuts") and the WWRY and BoRhap solos where the guitarists completely faked the guitar solos (those were just studio guitars). All other performances were fairly unremarkable, although Jimmie Allen sang his CLTCL part reasonably well, and whoever they got for AOBTD sang pretty well. |
