Hello all! I would like to ask you if you know about any other collaborations between Freddie and other artists besides those, which were mentioned in his Solo Box (with Billy Squier, Jo Dare, Eddie Howell, The Cross) ? Just today, out of sheer curiousity, I was checking out different tracks by Jo Dare and in the comments section to "You've Had Enough" she said that Freddie threw one line to the backing vocals and she gave a timestamp. So I cranked the volume up and lo and behold our Freddie is there! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngsevWRCfT4 timestamp:@1:32 Thanks to all who have contributed to building this website!
Kind regards,
Martin!

Nice find!
Never Let Her Slip Away by Andrew Gold. Fred does backing vocals on that one.

"And when the time is tough, I know you'd never last." Very nice find! When I've first heard it, I instantly thought about Don't Lose Your Head as Freddie sings it similarly to the line "If you make it to the top, then you'll wanna stay alive" pokemaniacjunkHeard that one! They did fantastic work with that backing vocals.

Never Let Her Slip Away is a tremendous piece of music. I was gutted to find out that it wasn't Fred doing backing vocals. Definitely Queen type harmonies. I asked AG's estate that run his Twitter page back in 2015 and they confirmed that it was indeed not Fred.
God bless the two of them

Hear Hear ! God bless!
Do we also know why the Lady with a Tenor Sax was not completed by FM & BS and only Squier's version was released officially ?

That's got to be Freddie!? "...On a school day afternoon..."

Wow. I apologize. I was convinced it was Freddie. I presumed that he was an uncredited background singer.

Peter Straker - Ragtime Piano Joe. Freddie produced, provided backing vocals and might have played piano.

Well, we know for sure that he appeared as a guest singer for a couple of tracks on Elton's gig. Has an audience recording ever circulated of that particular gig, or no luck here ? Sadly, we have only photos

The Andrew Gold thing made no sense to me. How did Freddie get to be such good friends with some US singer with relatively little profile by early 77 such that he'd pop in to a studio in LA to record BVs?
I didn't know it had been debunked, but I'm not surprised. Someone should link wikipedia to whatever proof that Facebook link provides

Sadly, we have only photos No, I think we have the other Manchester show (not really familiar with Elton in 1982), but I know we don't have the one with Freddie on.

My question was... "My question relates to Andrew Gold's fantastic album All This And Heaven Too. I believe that as well as production you also performed on the album. In the seventies I was a BIG Queen fan. There has been a lot of debate among fans about the song Never Let Her Slip Away. Did Freddie Mercury contribute an un-credited backing vocal to the track ? If so, do you have any stories/recollections?" His response... "An apocryphal tale which I've heard before. I am a fan of Freddie also and would have loved a chance to sing with him but, alas, that didn't happen. Best, Brock Walsh"

Yeah we only have 11/18/1982 (Freddie's on the next night). It's only about 2 weeks after the HS tour ended so who knows what shape Freddie was in.

Always wondered if Fred was ever featured on a Elton track or vice versa. I don't think so but Elton did write a song about Freddie after he passed. Ever heard of Teeth, Nose & Hair? The name was a joke rferring to the hope that Freddie, Elton and Rod Stewart would release an album together. Edit: quote fixed - LF

Edit: quote fixed - LFElton even dedicated The Show Must Go On to Freddie on "The One tour" that he did in 1992. (I know that this was a bit off topic).

Kind regards,
Martin! honestly it doesn't seem to me, for me she's always the lead singer who changes the timbre a little bit, and then what's the point of singing a single line?

By the way: Billy Squier had released the digital EP "Past Perfect" on March 12th. Love Is The Hero is on there with Freddie's Intro but it's an edit of the extended version.
