Hey guys, I did some stem isolation on '39 from the 6/6 Earl's Court bootleg as well as the Official Release, listened to both simultaneously, and found that the lead vocals (and pretty much most of the song) comes from 6/6. I'm 99% confident that I have it down right.
I'm going to lay out the lyrics and color code them based on which night that they come from:
Green - 6/6
Orange - 6/7
Blue - Other
In the year of '39, assembled here the volunteers
In the days when lands were few
Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny morn
The sweetest sight ever seen
And the night followed day
And the story tellers say
That the score brave souls inside
For many a lonely day sailed across the milky seas
Ne'er looked back, never feared, never cried
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew
*First 14 seconds of the ahhhh harmony
*The next 2 seconds of the ahhhh harmony (for Roger's track at least)
*The rest of the ahhhhh harmony
In the year of '39 came a ship in from the blue
The volunteers came home that day
And they bring good news of a world so newly born
Though their hearts so heavily weigh
For the Earth is old and grey, little darling, we'll away
But my love, this cannot be
Oh, so many years have gone though I'm older but a year
Your mother's eyes, from your eyes, cry to me
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away? -- All copied from the first chorus
Don't you hear me calling you?
Write your letters in the sand for the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew ["Everybody!"]
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away?
Don't you hear me calling you?
All your letters in the sand cannot heal me like your hand
For my life
Still ahead
Pity me -- Edited to fade out quicker or subbed in from 6/7
There's a very slight chance that some of these are incorrect and Freddie managed to phrase them exactly the same way on both nights, but I'm fairly confident that this is correct. The dialog before the song starts is from 6/7, and the ending strums on Brian's Guitar and the "All Right" is from 6/7 as well.
Nothing too interesting, just decided to share my findings.
