Companion to the Greatest Hits 1 poll! I'd like people to choose their fave Queen album from 82-91 SOLELY by the singles taken from it and included on Greatest Hits II (1991) - the UK edition. So for those in doubt, this works as follows Hot Space - Under Pressure The Works - Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, It's A Hard Life, Hammer To Fall A Kind of Magic - One Vision, A Kind Of Magic, Who Wants To Live Forever, Friends Will Be Friends The Miracle - I Want It All, Breakthru, The Invisible Man, The Miracle Innuendo - Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Headlong, The Show Must Go On There is way less disparity in terms of number of singles per album than on GH1, although Hot Space is as ever out on it's own. Yet for all I know, Under Pressure may be your favourite Queen track of all. It might even be mine.. PLEASE SAY SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR CHOICE IF YOU VOTE as cold lists/polls are deadly boring. Answer according to whatever criteria you like. Best representation of Queen? Best overall collection of songs? The only songs on GHII that you don't skip? But tell us about your criteria and why you voted as you did..

As much as I think the album is a bit weak, the singles on AKOM are some of the best songs they wrote in the 80s. Aware that it's not on Greatest Hits II, but if you throw Princes of the Universe in there too it's a great set of 80s singles IMO.

This one is tougher, but I think I would also go for AKOM, for the first three singles only. FWBF was definitely the weaker of all the singles, and POTU would have been a better choice, in my opinion.

I found this one easy. Without a doubt The Works is my favorite set of singles from the 1980s. In second place I'd choose Innuendo.

I should explain my own choice of The Works - all killer! Even IWTBF which gets short shrift sometimes. I think the four singles are the perfect distillation of 80s Queen at their best, and most stylistically diverse, pop, hard rock, ballad and electro pop/anthem. AKOM is probably a close 2nd but FWBF lets the side down a little bit. Innuendo has 3 of the greatest Queen songs of all time but Headlong is a bit of a nothing track really (and Innuendo itself perhaps a little too unwieldy as a single). Under Pressure, while it's potentially my fave Queen song on GHII, loses points for being edited on the CD. Yes I am that petty.

Innuendo for me - Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Headlong, The Show Must Go On are very different songs, but great in their own kind.

Works works works. I think it gets under-appreciated on this forum.
