So it appears that there are overdubs present on Live Around The World, despite them stating the opposite in the QNA! I've only found one so far, but if you can catch more, feel free to add them! So here's the one I found: During the first verse of Tear It Up, Adam is heard flubbing the lyrics on an audience recording. This however seems to be patched for the live album by probably using another concert. Audience recording: youtu.be/fqS4QuhRQ4Q?t=2m14sOfficial release: m.youtube.com/watch?v=x5j5U4UDyGc%3Ft%3D%3Ft%3D1%3Ft%3D&t=126Maybe someone that has better video editing skills than me could make a "Live vs. Overdubs" episode, as I highly doubt Chinwonder2 will make a Queen + Adam Lambert Episode, but maybe I'm wrong! But like I said, if you find more overdubs and changes, please add them!

Oh don't worry, I plan to do all of the Queen+ era Live releases! I'm halfway through creating my next episode, Milton Keynes and Tokorozawa! -Chin

Sounds great, I'm looking foward to it! I somehow did have a feeling that you wouldn't do QAL stuff, but luckily, I was wrong 😉
But I have to say, I don't know how to feel about them just lying in that QNA... I remember being so happy to hear that there are no overdubs on the live album, but now that I know there are overdubs on it, I feel a bit betrayed...

Since when has QPL been a source of reputable information I remember they once stated that Live Killers (or this could have been Brian) had no overdubs. Ha! www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2FE30SNjEA-Chin

Another overdub was 'I Want To Break Free' where Brian's guitar stopped working for a bit. Some said that it was just raising the volume up, but I'm like 99% sure it's an overdub
(Found that one out from this video)

For someone bitching about bands using click-tracks, he has no problem polishing up his and bandmates' live turds. :') "live and dangerous" my ass, Brian!

I just had one small question to ask: Is the episode on Milton Keynes and Tokorozawa gonna contain a lot of things to talk about, or will it be a sort of mini episode. I'm just asking, because from what I could find, there are not as many overdubs, pitch-corrections, mix edits and cuts as the other concerts you've analysed so far.

Milton Keynes will be the majority but there isn’t a lot to talk about. Just some overdubs where and there and mixing changes. Same for Tokorozawa, just mixing changes with the 1983 official VHS/LD release -Chin

I guess so, maybe something similar to the length of Hammersmith ‘75 -Chin

I guess so, maybe something similar to the length of Hammersmith ‘75 -Chin That's still a pretty lengthy episode that we'll have if your estimations turn out to be correct. I have a few questions (these will be the last ones, for now): How do you find hard to point out pitch-corrections & instrumental overdubs? Do you compare the raw & multitrack source and find a conclusion from there? Do you get help from members of the forum? And do you use software like or similar to Melodyne? Sorry if it looks like I'm starting a Q&A, but I wanted to know, just for the sake of curiosity.

I just listen to the original untouched version and listen for any mistakes or oddities and then compare it against the official release to see if it’s been fixed. I don’t use anything like Melodyne. I’ve no real need to. -Chin

Come to think about it, I find it funny that we have the same approach for this type of video. Anyways, thanks again for answering, and I'm looking forward to what you'll have in store for the future. - Works Of Magic

Something came to my mind after going back to Queenlive.ca: Will you include the cuts made to Milton Keynes on the CD release? I'm just asking since you talked about the cuts made for the Montreal '81 video.

AFAIK, the only cut was during the guitar solo when the Red Special cut out? Unless there’s some dialogue between songs cut?

Can't remember when exactly though. You might need to listen to the album again just to be sure.
Edit: Here's the videos in question:

I remember being so happy to hear that there are no overdubs on the live album, but now that I know there are overdubs on it, I feel a bit betrayed... Overdubs on live albums have been standard for 50 years. It doesn't bother me in the least. At least we live in a day and age now where we can choose between which version we want to watch, as a hundred people are filming concerts at all times now.
Just don't lose sight of the full picture - even with a flubbed lyric fixed, the performance and stage production are pretty unreal, not least because these guys were 70 years old when they played the gig.
Great to hear them doing the album arrangement of the song too, as they never did that back in the day. And Lambert can hit the high notes. All in all this is pretty incredible.
