I need help with something, that I can’t do on my own. So about three weeks ago, I started working on something, but ran into some glitches. It took me a while to get those problems under control. By the time I had fixed those issues I had realized that I couldn’t do this alone. This is why I’m asking you to help me out with this. Btw what I’m doing is, I’m compiling every time Freddie did E Phrasing In wwry and gathering information about each version. I’ve already compiled most of them. But if you find any more please let me know. I’ll also be posting something similar in Sammy B. Willicker’s Live Killers thread, as I want as many people as possible working on the project. I’ve already edited a small portion of it. Each person will be credited individually. Please gather information about at least one or two of the versions I’ve written down. I wish you all the best of luck.

So you’re asking for your project to become everyone else’s project because you hit a bump in the road? I don’t even see a please anywhere in there. I’m not quite sure I see the point of this, especially since you didn’t ask for assistance, you effectively said, “Here’s what I started, now you do the rest.” If I’m misunderstanding please clarify, but don’t come to this forum and dictate to people what they need to do for you for your personal project.

Who are these people though? Did you ask them? Or are you just assuming someone will do it? You’ve provided no information apart from some vague issues you had at the start and that you can’t do “it” alone. You’ll need to clarify – and then ask for help instead of demanding it, even if that’s not how you think it came off.

I completely agree with georg here. you've done "a small portion" and now you want "as many as possible" to help you do the bulk of the actual work? whoaah there! you don't see pittrek Chinwonder2 cmi or any of the other contributors asking for everyone else to do the heavy lifting for them. Seriously, either it is YOUR project or it isn't - and if it is then most of it should be your work. If you are going to want the vast majority of the work done by others - then from the very outset you need to declare it a Complete Collaboration project where ALL participants will be credited equally. Anything else is (I fear) pretty much a non-starter |

For those of us that just like to listen to the songs, rather than forensically deconstructing them, could you explain what exactly 'E phrasing' is, please?
At the moment, I'm failing to see the point of such a project, and how it could benefit anyone other than yourself, but I'm sure you have a reason for doing it.

I'm not interested in comparing a note in every version of a song from concerts in 1979.
The output would seem to be a series of data points, with no plan for any analysis or conclusion, so I further don't see why anybody else would be interested either

Are you happy now? i honestly could give a light what you do. my comment was more about the nature of your request - which in summary was: "hey you lot, i gave this around ten minutes effort and it seemed like really hard work...anyone fancy doing most of it for me"  |

This is a pretty standard project, so I don't see why you'd need help with it. Second, that Live Killers thread was meant to be a concert film, which requires a team of people to do properly. Like said above, this isn't that hard to do. It's literally just listening to WWRY from 1979 onwards. It'll take a decent chunk of your day, but surely collaboration should be used for something more difficult? If you want to make a video showing all of the times Fred did a phrasing in WWRY, then go right ahead, but asking others to do most of the work is absurd. |

They're not necessarily cheap, but it'll be worth it in the long run when you want to do projects like this. Plus, even if people did collaborate with you, and correct me if I'm wrong, but they'd be sending the stuff to you, so in the end, you'd still have to make the video and put it altogether. To me at least, it just sounds like you're being lazy and wanting others to do the heavy lifting instead of you |
