Hi everybody, I want to share with you an article taken from the Italian press. This one was published on the Italian newspaper La Stampa on Monday August 11th, 1986. Originally titled Un omicidio al concerto dei Queen (translated as A murder at Queen concert), the article spoke about the beating of a fan during the concert at Knebworth Park in Stevenage two days before. Here's the translation from Italian to English. 120,000 spectators
A murder at Queen concert
KNEBWORTH (England) - A twenty-one-year-old boy was stabbed to death while attending the open-air megaconcert of Queen, the English rock band currently at the top of the international hit parade. About 120,000 people attended the Queen concert. Only Bob Dylan managed, ten years ago, to gather an equally impressive number of fans. The police's reconstruction of the tragic episode claimed that the young man was shot during a riot that broke out between a group of young people crowded in the gardens of Knebwort House, the large complex located forty kilometers from London. The death of the young man cast a shadow on an evening that up to that moment had taken place without incident, with the Queen engaged, in a wonderful play of lights and special effects, to present the best of their repertoire for two hours. Hundreds of families attended the concert, whose safety was watched over by hundreds of police officers who have not yet managed to name the boy's killer or killers. Here's a scan of the original article (in Italian of course):
