This is a very nice interview to Brian May, made by Italian journalist Luca Dondoni in September 1992. The article was titled E Freddy canta ancora con i suoi Queen (translated as And Freddy still sings along with his Queen) and was published in the September 27th, 1992 issue of the Italian newspaper La Stampa. Dondoni mainly talks about the release of Brian's new album 'Back To The Light' and interviews the guitarist about it. Interesting questions are then asked about two recurring themes in the press at the time: the replacement of Freddie with a new singer and the hypothetical creation of a posthumous album by the band. The idea of a new Queen album with Freddie's voice is already exposed by Brian as a certainty, while the rumor about a new singer is categorically denied.
While translating, I took the liberty of correcting Freddie's name; custom for some Italian journalists at the time was to report his name as Freddy (you can also see it in the scan below).
Have a good reading.

May new voice of the group, after Mercury
And Freddie still sings along with his Queen
MILANO - What will become of Queen, after the death of Freddie Mercury? Many people are talking about a new record. With which singer? Brian May, great guitar virtuoso and founding member of the group, has no doubts: «With Freddie. Or rather with the voice of Freddie who, before dying, recorded some songs on a tape. Now it's up to us to write the music, arrange it and put it on vinyl». Does that mean that a posthumous album will be released? "Exactly so. It would be a shame to leave Freddie's voice on a tape. I'm sure he too would have liked to record those songs».
While waiting for this work, Brian May's debut album is out tomorrow. The title of the album, which has lived a gestation period of just under five years, is "Back To The Light" (Ritorno alla Luce) «The man who finished this LP today, is very different from the man who started it five years ago» May confided «and life has confronted us with situations that none of us would have expected in the least. The period of time I spent in therapy with a psychoanalyst allowed me to better look inside myself and the problems that for a long time, living like a rock star, I had avoided facing. I was healed, and fate immediately confronted me with Freddie's death».
Recorded at Windlesham's 'Allerton Hill' in England, the album closely follows the release of the single 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' which is already enjoying great success. A song dedicated to the missing friend? «Everyone thought that because 'Too much love...' was the song I chose to participate in the Freddie Mercury Tribute at Wembley Stadium. Instead I just wanted to write a rock ballad».
«My record» May added «is inspired by the universal theme of love and was fueled by my recent personal experiences. In here is everything I wanted to be there. It seems strange but often with the character of the members of Queen it wasn't easy to reach common decisions. Freddie acted as a catalyst, who in addition to the artistic genius also had a great diplomacy and Queen, it must be said loudly, have stayed together all this time perhaps only thanks to him».
Lately the newspapers, especially the American ones, talk about a new singer for Queen and often mention the name of former Who leader Roger Daltrey. What's real?
«Probably this is a rumor that Daltrey himself spread; I saw Roger Taylor and John Deacon just two days ago to discuss our future and nobody talked about a new singer».
