In 1978, the first documentary about the band, directed by Bob Harris, was never released. Apparently, after these events, the group decided to turn to the services of American director Denis Dee Vallance. Thus, their first joint product was the music videos for the songs Bicycle Race and Fat Bottomed Girls. At that time, the band was actively touring, and Denis De Valence undertook to make a new documentary about the band, which resulted in the film The Champions, edited in December 1979. At the moment, this film is one of the only films covering the period of Live Killers, and even possibly filmed for its promotion. While analyzing this documentary, I came across some shots that may have been made specifically for this film, but unlike Bob Harris' project, here the band focused on live performances rather than endless behind-the-scenes filming (resulting in full-length concerts in Paris). I also noticed that unlike the Bob Harris project, which was shot exclusively on 35 mm film, Dennis used TV cameras apparently to reduce the cost of the project (The Champions at the same time uses unreleased Bob Harris shots at that time). And so I want to present a list of those things that Dennis De Valence shot in 1979 specifically for The Champions project:
01. Paris 1st Night
02. Paris 2nd Night
03. Paris 3rd Night
04. Studio Footage. Recording/Mixing Of Live Killers
05. Bohemian Rhapsody. Royal Ballet Performance (?)
In fact, I'm not even sure if this movie was ever shown on TV, since many works and projects were rejected more than once by the band itself. If you have any information, I will be glad to discuss it with you!)

But if it wasn't broadcast, then how did it get out ? The best copy is a VHS burned to a DVD in 2002.

Looking at the information screen saver at the beginning, we can assume that this is a "stolen" master cassette of the future film. Based on this and also on the absence of a TV logo, I think that this film has never been shown to a wide audience. It is also worth considering the fact that the band never collaborated with Dennis de Vallance again)

Good observations. Add Tokyo 24th and 25th . Not sure about the Royal Ballet.
