Jesus Christ! For a second I thought that read Roger Meddows Taylor RIP. 😱
Nice gesture tough. Taylor Hawkins was clearly highly thought of in the music industry.

I've read some comments online by people saying that what Roger said about Taylor Hawkins was just for publicity. It does seem it if you just read the headline but honestly it's pretty clear that the two drummers had a really close relationship. I get really irritated when people say stuff on things they know very little about and it shows!

There are pics of Taylor in the early days where he has the exact same spiky blonde haircut and sunglasses look that Roger had in the 1980's.

I figured this would be an appropriate place to bring it up, but it’s obviously how much Brian and Roger adored and respected him, but especially Brian: he hasn’t posted on any of his preferred social platforms since he shared news of Taylor’s death last Saturday. A prolific, near daily poster on at least one platform, and he hasn’t said a word since. (Please don’t think I’m complaining!) I feel for everyone in Taylor’s family and in Foo Fighters of course, but now I’m thinking of Brian, especially because he’s re-releasing his second solo album, with now two drummers Brian greatly loved and respected who died unexpectedly.

Interestingly though Brian has apparently made recent comments on Taylor Hawkins' death: www.nme.com/news/music/queens-brian-may-frustrated-by-taylor-hawkins-death-3196341I've been trying to think of the musicians who've died since Queen's formation who have had the biggest influence on Brian and Roger or have made them severely grieved. Obviously Freddie. John Lennon was a sad moment for everyone. Jimi Hendrix was another significant moment for the two and Freddie. Roger was probably the one most impacted by the deaths of Keith Moon and David Bowie. George Harrison and Cozy Powell for Brian. I suppose George Michael as well should be included for the pair of them, especially after his performance at the Tribute Concert. (I've probably missed off lots of musicians so it would be appreciated to hear your suggestions.) Now Taylor Hawkins is a very sad moment for the pair of them. I can imagine it would be like losing your son as they were more than friends. Maybe after Freddie and John Lennon the one that has hit them the hardest.

I've read some comments online by people saying that what Roger said about Taylor Hawkins was just for publicity. My god, some people are trash. These keyboard warriors have lost the plot by being granted complete anonymity behind a screen. But I'm sure they're a tiny minority.

I think the Brian's Curse thing is a bit unkind, but he has lost an awful lot of his mates. It does bring home thoughts of one's own mortality when people close to you shuffle off, particularly if they are quite a bit younger that yourself. In my family, members seem to be departing largely in order of age, and I'm acutely conscious of moving up the ladder! 😕

I`m the same age now as my Dad when he died(63). It can be scary when you think about it.

I'm past that age now, but it was a weird feeling reaching that birthday, and wondering if I would reach the next!
