Do known songs with different lead vocalists count? Sail Away Sweet Sister with Freddie on lead vocals for example? That was confirmed by Rhys Thomas a few years back. I would love to hear that version, although the released version is a favourite of mine as it is.

I think it is safe to assume that there must be some Freddie takes of all songs. Also, there have to be demo vocals at least for songs that each member wrote, such as Innuendo with Roger and TSMGO with Brian, both confirmed.
By the way, Rhys Thomas did confirm online that "I Don't Want To Be Like A Rolling Stone" is a second song they did with Bowie, and those comments were later deleted.

A similar lyric appears in I Go Crazy, maybe an early version with Bowie exists?

There is also Rock it with Freddie's vocals which out voted 3/2 with Mack's vote.
A kind of magic OST which did not release due to the movie failure.
Queen and Bowie jamming
Woe was not included on ADATR

Those two were played at that exclusive Innuendo tapes session a few years ago, along with many other interesting takes. A kind of magic OST which did not release due to the movie failure. Can you elaborate?

Can you elaborate? If you see the end of the movie, there is a promote about the original soundtrack. I have an interview when Brian or Roger 1986 said that due to failure of the movie in the US, the original soundtrack will not get a release. I don't remember which year, but on his soapbox he mentioned about the original soundtrack.

Wov, great list, great thread! Never knew that "Let’s Make Love" was cookin' in the AKOM sessions. But i wonder if this track is still not in quality for now? As it was planned on Queen FOrever, these must have been at least more prolonged version/other bits o'song circulating, not just 50 sec of distorted voice.

Hot Space sessions: All This Is Love (lyrics exist, unknown if recorded) They did record it. The existence of demos (very basic though) was confirmed by Brooks.

I recall a chap posted on the old QueenRocker board that he had seen a book, published in 1991, that listed several as-of-yet unreleased Queen songs. Since the list included You Don't Fool Me, Winter's Tale, and Mother Love, he considered the info to be kosher. Was very likely a massive wind-up, and sadly I neglected to save the song titles he quoted from the publication; however, I do recall that a couple of the putative unfinished songs were called 'Happy Hour' and 'Give 'Em The Works'. Make of that what you will.
More recently, I recall TRS Romania claimed to have two Queen demos: Supernatural (a Brian track from 1990), and 'Outta Luck' (a Roger track from 1985). He also claimed to have an early take of Love Kills with a different arrangement and a version of Sleeping on the Sidewalk with a few lines of lead vocals by Freddie.

Remember the QueenRocker board, but can't recall that being discussed. Was that really a book? As for the info from TSR Romania, I would be more dubious in this case. The guy was rather known as being obsessed with demo stuff and posting YouTube vids with everything new that has just appeared on queenzone, a slightly refreshed version of the DR Fuller channel. Not sure how rare material would eventually end up in his possession. It's rather likely he made up those titles.

On the label of the US single for Princes of the Universe it states ‘(from the Film “The Highlander - There Can Be Only One” SV-12476)’. The label for the Us single for A Kind of Magic states ‘(from the forthcoming LP “A KIND OF MAGIC” SMAS-12476)’. Seems like Capitol Records was planning for the soundtrack to be released. But when it was scrapped they still used the same catalog number for AKOM.

Assassin demoGot that link yesterday and I'm in two minds. On one hand the vocals seem genuine as the posting date was way before the AI videos flooding yt. On the other hand I suspect some poor editing, similar to that found in many faked demos.

It sounds weird. Definitely lots of editing, the structure makes no sense and Freddie sounds like they took random clips and mixed them in a way that it resembles new lyrics.

I believe this Assassin demo has been around for years. Not sure if this is a 'new' version, but I'm fairly sure I've heard one before somewhere.

I would love to hear an archive release of the Queen and Bowie sessions. I think there would be enough interest in it to warrant a release. You’ve got a confirmed second song (reliable source) that was supposedly good enough to be a follow up single. You’ve got the live studio jams of covers confirmed by Ratty. Add the Feels Like demo and Cool Cat with Bowie on vocals and it’s viable release

I remember an Assassin demo featuring a drunk-like Roger Taylor and Freddie Mercury with flu impressions and some horrible synth... In this demo the voice seems almost AI generated, at 1:10 circa when says "I'm the assassin" he then starts doin' random sounds which should be in theory some ad-libs but sounds like he's having a stroke.

It wouldn't surprise me if the vocals were reversed or part of them. It's a very odd fake.

And what’s the source of Let’s Make Love being planned for release on QF? I’ve heard that the track was played on a private meeting along with an alt. version of LMIYHA, but can anyone provide more info?

I’m interested in any answers to the last question? I would love to know how complete/workable Let’s Make Love is and why ultimately they decided not to use it. The crap quality snippet available sounds like it has potential.
