These pics have been floating around the net lately. Some people guessed 1976/77 based on hairstyles, but still not exactly sure where? Freddie is wearing a late 70's era Seattle Seahawks football jacket so maybe a promotional shoot for a concert in Seattle? hmm    |

The other guy on the boat (Prenter?) is wearing a jacket that says "Queen summer tour 1977" - so it certainly wasn't taken in Seattle when they were there in March. They're probably on vacation somewhere after the Earls Court gigs.
But not somewhere warm, judging by Roger's fur coat.

Good eye! I didn't even see the 77 Summer tour jacket! The man's face is blocked, but as I recall it was called "Summer Tour 77" even though it began in Jan. i wouldn't completely rule out that they are in the PNW somewhere maybe Vancouver BC or Portland Oregon too since that was the show the day before Seattle. It's still very cold out on the water in all those places in March. Earl's Court was last show in June 77. I love a good mystery!  |

According to Brian, the first photo was taken on May 11, 1977, on the ferry from Helsingborg in Sweden to Helsingør in Denmark. In the book, it's followed by a photo of John in a cab in Copenhagen (they played there on May 12), and then it's followed by that second pic you posted. That's Freddie next to a plane propeller. John is wearing the same shirt and jacket from the Copenhagen cab photo, so it's likely May 12 or 13, 1977 in Copenhagen. |
