Ali for example is a Queen +Bowie music sample used by other artist etc. I remember back in mid 00s there were many discussions in QZ and Qol about the list of Queen songs in BMI. Some of them were samples.

I have some thoughts and questions about certain songs I’ve noticed over the years, but I’m not near my computer at the moment, but thank you for starting this! In all my years as a Queen fan I don’t know why I never thought to ask about the BMI Reprtoire, because there are some obviously, hilariously mistitled songs (Princess of the Universe) and other artists’ songs where a Queen sample was used – though I wish John had written a sequel song called Another Gal Bites the Dust – but the whole thing seems to be a bit of a mess.
I’ll do a deeper dive of sorts later today, and try to see if we as a collective can figure some of these things out!

I looked at that link, I noticed an entry for "Bad Boy" credited to John and Inner Circle. Do they mean "Bad Boys" by Inner Circle (aka the theme song from the show Cops) and there's a sample from some Queen song in there? If so, I never noticed it!

All the new tracks for the Miracle boxset are in the list, haha!
However... *puts tinfoil hat on* ...we know nothing about these tracks:
Bows (Brian) Change (Brian) Fanfare (Freddie / Brian) In Memoriam / Postlude In Memoriam (Freddie / Brian) King Me (Prince Of The Universe) (Freddie) Noche De Paz (Freddie) Who Wants To Live Forever (In The Rain) (Brian) Yeah Yeah Yeah (Freddie)
Just a wild theory: pair these with the recent AKOM video remaster that came out of the blue, and are we getting anything from "A Kind Of Magic", or maybe the 4K "Highlander" release at the end of the month? Something else coming soon-ish? Queen's 50th anniversary stuff?
*puts tinfoil hat off*

And wasn't the A Day At The Races introduction sometimes called 'Fanfare' ? After all, the 20th Century Fox intro on the Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack is called '20th Century Fos Fanfare' as well. 'In Memoriam / Postlude In Memoriam'.... Maybe an alternative or early name of 'Track 13'? 'Who Wants To Live Forever (In The Rain)' ... In the BoRap movie this was played during a scene in the rain if I remember well... So maybe somehow this one got seperate BMI credits? I see there's a seperate one for 'Who Wants To Live Forever Instrumental' (a cover version by someone) as well, so this isn't a strange thought.

Gotta give it to Freddie, THOSE song titles are something else. yeah yeah yeah XD seeing the King Me, PRINCE *singular* of the universe, made me laugh. I can just invision him writing the first draft just about himself - here I am, I am the Prince of the universe. Guess he changed it to be less pretentious, but both Gimme the prize and King Me sound like self confidence pieces - maybe a bit sarcastic, as he sometimes was. What a champ! In the rest of the lyrics, he IS singing in singular, so I guess there was some band pressure to change the title/few lines... so here's the full lyric example in singular, it fits like a charm: Here I am, born to be King, I'm the prince of the universe Here I belong, fighting to survive in a world with the darkest powers Here I am, I'm the prince of the universe, here I belong, fighting for survival
I've come to be the ruler of you all
I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings, I have no rival No man can be my equal, take me to the future of you all Born to be king, prince of the universe Fighting and free, got your world in my hand I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand I was born to be the prince of the universe
No man could understand, my power is in my own hand
Ooh, people talk about me, people say I've had my day I'm a man that will go far, fly the moon and reach for the stars With my sword and head held high, got to pass the test first time, I know that people talk about me, I hear it every day But I can prove them wrong 'cause I'm right first time
Let's go, let's go, watch this man fly, bring on the girls
Here I am, born to be king, I'm the prince of the universe
Here I belong, born to be king, prince of the universe Fighting and free, got your world in my hand I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand I was born to be the prince of the universe Can you dig it? Sorry to hijack the post, Salmon! cheers

Good theory, but “prince” (one syllable) sounds awkward. My theory is it’s just an error.

i think the opening verse is about introducing the gathering of the immortals, while the rest of the song is Connor MacLeod's own statement of intent.

When I looked up the entry for Noche de Paz, I saw some other names attached to it, and they appear to be members of the Mexican band Fobia. I wasn't able to find the song itself so I don't know the connection to Freddie, but it's mostly likely through a sample. One of the members of Fobia, Jay de la Cueva, was also briefly in Molotov, the band that did Bohemian Rhapsody on the Spanish-language tribute album from many years ago.

Anyway, this is another song with another artist attached to it (Adekunle Omoyosi) so it may be another use of a Queen sample.

All of the Queen songs I looked up from Queen I to A Night at the Opera on Songview have Glenwood Music Corp listed as a publisher, and so does Eyes of the White Queen. Songs from A Day at the Races and later albums have Beechwood Music Corporation listed as a publisher. See What a Fool I've Been is one exception I found, as it lists Beechwood and not Glenwood. Of course, the title makes it seem like a demo of White Queen, and the lyrics do make several references to eyes and sight. It's one of my favourite songs, so I would love to hear it if this is the case!

A new Deacon title has shown up, and it’s an interesting one: QIMATSILUNGA (I have no idea if it’s an acronym or??). This is interesting because it’s credited to just him – other curious titles are generally other artists who sample Queen songs – and also because of such a strange title! I can’t even imagine what it would stand for, or what era it came from. Nothing new from the others, sad to say.

New title: Rock The Piano, by Brian. (Not sure how to link directly to the title; I don't think you can, actually, but it's there!) I would be surprised if this was a Queen/Queen II era track, but anything's possible!

I wonder if any of these are for his upcoming Star Fleet box. I don’t think all them are but the Brian tracks might?

However, that John track and "Eyes Of The White Queen" just hint at something from "Queen I" era. If I'm not mistaken, "White Queen" has pre-Queen roots. Pretty sure a home demo exists, circa 1969, as basic and undeveloped it may be. I would also expect a track or two from that 1970 live tape they hyped a while ago, if there simply isn't enough in the vaults beyond the known demos and instrumentals. Then again, they surely have interesting live pro recordings to fill in any gaps ("Hangman" and whatnot).
