I like many other fan's on this site have just about every album that Queen have released , in fact I have around 5 copies of each of their releases. I have noted that quite a few poor quality live albums have appeared for sale Amazon. Most of them have issues poor quality sound, gaps between songs etc. The thing is I really feel that Queen's back catalogue really does need sorting out to make it more exciting and have some new remasters the last ones were done in 2011 and were a bit under par. Also please give us some good box sets [not greatest hits]. I hardly play my Queen collection these days and have moved onto other bands like "The Pretty Reckless" , " Halestorm" and " Muse" . I know that the long awaited Miracle Box set is due to be released in September but we just seem to get very little output from QPL.

I think you'll probably find most, if not all, of the unofficial releases on Amazon could be downloaded for free, if you know where to look.

Yeah Amazon have got a load of unofficial stuff trying to make it look official stuff , the reviews are pretty poor though. I do like live stuff to sound as good as possible. Though "Live Magic" and the last live effort with AL were not that great. Can't see why they don't make "Killers" a box set and flesh it out with the tracks that were missing and full length versions of all songs. It could be fantastic !

When Brian and Roger die, don´t worry, market will be flooded with tons of stuff (and another Greatest Hits compilation)

Given that I recall him saying that 20 years ago, and often being contradicted by band decisions, I don't see much benefit in hanging one's hat on anything he says.

Does anybody know for certain who decides what project is worked on and then given the green light to be released. Is it Brian, Roger and John or the record label or QPL ? They seem more interested in releasing models of the band, the ones that are around £150 per figure.

They were the reason the Miracle boxset didn't come out a few years ago from what I've heard. John is very hands-off, I don't think he has anything to do with releases like that.

Roger and Brian signed a contract with a record label. That contract will stipulate some level of release schedule - it might just be "an album a year" or it might be "one live/archive release every X years, one new compilation every Y years, and something about reissues".
Whatever is contracted, Brian / Roger / QPL come up with proposals for the record label, and probably vice versa to a degree. Some of these proposals (probably most) arise from the team of freelancers QPL use - Greg, Justin and presumably others. During these discussions, John is probably informed at some stage (probably late on) in case he wants to veto.
Once both sides agree, a release is scheduled in terms of manufacturing, promotion, etc.

Thanks for that information Pg ,has anybody got any ideas of releases that you would like to see coming out in the future. Myself I would like "Live Killers" Box Set. A Queen live Box set including all of the bands live albums and Blu Rays of the concerts as well with all of the live albums expanded to include tracks that were not on the original releases. An up to date Queen Remix album , I know they did one a while back but it only had 12 tracks on it and it included the original mix of Bohemian Rhapsody for some reason. With just a little imagination there could be some fantastic releases, but for some reason we just get Greatest Hits with a slip cover on it. I was absolutely horrified to see that release and thought QPL had reached a new low point.

It's such a shame Pedagogue as there are endless opportunities for some very exciting releases to be made. I can't see it changing overnight either, who has put the brakes on some worth while releases. It must be Brian and Roger, so what happens when they pass away , not that I am wishing that to happen of course ?

Case one: Their descendants will change the release policy and releaes stuff more frequently or Case two: They won't give a flying f.... and go by the steps of their fathers I don't understand why Brian and Roger don't want to see the excitement in peoples faces while they still can release unreleased material and make people happy.
Even if everything unreleased has been released one day - people will still listen to older music because recent music is still going downhill in quality. When I see young peoples reaction on Youtube I feel teleported
to the moments when I discovered a band (doesn't even have to be only Queen) and one of the band's albums.
And if one day the bands of the past (including Queen) won't be of any interest for people in the future than that's how it should be. All good things come to an end but I do hope of course that this legendary music will be heard forever in the best case.

A flying what?
Moonlighting Tv Show David: Well I'm confused. I don't know what a "flying fig" is? Maddie: That's okay (they both look at camera), they do.

I wonder if there was a pun intended by Roger when he released "The Lot" meaning that's your lot ! By the way the first batch of "The Lot" was a complete mess with errors everywhere ,tracks missing ,discs missing, printing errors a plenty! When I sent my first copy back and got the corrected edition back I was very pleased with it and still play it a "LOT" now [lol].

Everything from legendary Queen drummer/songwriter’s solo career! Lot: (pronoun) 1. A large number or amount; a great deal 1.1 (the lot) The whole number or quantity that is involved In addition to drumming, singing and writing for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Queen, Roger Taylor has had a critically acclaimed solo career. Originally issued as a limited-edition collection in the U.K., Roger’s total solo output was released as The Lot—a 12-CD + DVD collection. Omnivore Recordings is honored to bring The Lot to the U.S. following hot on the heels of the first ever “best of” compilation of Roger’s solo work simply called, Roger Taylor: Best! From his 1977 single “I Wanna Testify” to 2012’s “The Unblinking Eye (Everything Is Broken)”; from 1981’s Fun In Space to 2013’s Fun On Earth; from his work fronting The Cross to every single edit and remix in between—The Lot has it all. And we mean ALL. This 12-CD + DVD package dedicates a disc to each of Roger Taylor’s 5 solo albums plus 2 CDs filled with all of his singles and remixes. All 3 albums from The Cross are also represented, with 2 CDs of single edits and remixes from that side project. Add in a DVD of promo videos and extras, and you have the complete picture of Roger Taylor’s music outside of Queen. You have The Lot. As the Queen + Adam Lambert tour travels across the world, it’s time to (re)discover Roger Taylor’s solo work, as well. It’s time for The Lot.

I remember speaking to Jacky (Fan club) many many years ago when she was asking fans what she could do to attract new members. I suggested more releases like the two Cross cassettes from the early 90's and she told me Roger had agreed for there to be more but Jim Beach scuppered them, telling Roger they were his "retirement fund". Jim isn't very well these days (adverse reaction to the covid jabs?), but unfortunately it sounds like his wife and daughter who have taken over the business are of the same mindset.

In the absence of a source, ascribing his health to any particular reason, especially that one, is needlessly argumentative.

First touted at convention 22 years ago. The FM boxset was EMI's "test" release to determine how well a similar Queen set would sell. How did it go? i think we all know the answer to that one...but for the unaware: The Queen II Boxset was top notch, even including the previously unheard demos of Deep Ridge and Surrender To The CityThe ANATO Boxset was beyond belief - including 3 previously unleaked versions of Bo Rhap - including the mythical 9-minute version The Anthology Box was the stuff of legends - highlights being complete, unedited studio versions of: ♦ Hangman ♦ Rock n Roll Medley ♦ Nevermore [electric piano version] ♦ Funny How love Is [outtakes] ♦ MoTBQ [takes 3-5] ♦ Tenement Funster (Teen Dreams) [demo] ♦ Woe ♦ Let Me Live [early version]
