---Spoilers---
Great to finally see a new music video with some artistic vision.
Really hoped those studio models with the statues would have been more... Animated. Would have been a great concept
.. more thought will follow.
What does everyone else think?

I liked it - it made me more engaged with the song.

The concept was interesting, but the final product wasn't. This video feels kinda like a "demo". I know they can't record new footage both because Freddie is gone and the others look nothing like they did in 1989, but in bloody 1991 they released a masterpiece of a video for Innuendo without recording even a single frame of new footage. I suppose in 2022 it'd be so much easier and cheaper to make something like that, combining new animations made especially for this video and more creative use of older footage. Not that I was expecting something as great as Innuendo, of course - but given how much effort they've put into advertising their new single, I expected the video would be closer in artistic quality to their older stuff.

They could have done something entirely animated, with likenesses of the band as they were then.

They could have used deep fake technology. I guess everyone has seen the video of the fake Tom Cruise that appeared over a year ago, made by a "fan"?
I DID like the way they used silhouettes of the band in the new video, which made me to wonder if the silhouette version of "Invisible Man" will be in the boxset. I suspect not. That would be too generous of QPL.

That would be too generous of QPL. Please don't take it personally, because it's not meant like that, but your comment inspired me to share some thoughts. I know I sound like a granddad but I can't come to terms with people being so tolerant of new technologies like AI and deep fake. Do we really want to wake up in a world where we can be easily deceived into believing that e.g. 'long-lost' footage of Queen recording 'The Miracle' has surfaced or a perfect take of new song has been unearthed, while in fact they are products of AI? We complain a lot when we hear autotune has been used. Perhaps we should be happy we can still hear it. There are technologies around the corner that will make it impossible to discern (at least by ear) an authentic vocal take recorded by a living person from an AI-created surrogate. I know this is inevitable and this scares the living daylights out of me, not least because there are far more sinister applications of such technology than creating a fake Queen song. I like the video better than the song itself. There's no pretence here and it has nice touches. Not their best effort, but still a tad more interesting than a generic compilation of well-known clips.

I honestly believe a *little bit* of deep fake/AI wouldn't hurt. Considering what's been done to place Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill on recent Star Wars movies and TV shows looking like they did back in the classic era, I think the technology is mature enough at least to create a scene or two - like a few newer angles/poses of Freddie wearing the same outfits and/or being in the same set from classic videos or even other band members looking younger. It's probably expensive as hell, though.
Now, more than just a few seconds of a new pose here and there to freshen up would probably be too much, and perhaps some of us would start noticing imperfections or feel uncomfortable.
Animations, sillhouettes etc would probably feel more natural.

I understand your point, but i feel we already live in the world you describe, and it has very little to do with new tech like deepfake or AI. I mean, take a random product off the shelves at your local grocery store. What the label, name, design make you think/feel you are getting will in most cases not be what you're actually getting. It will be up to us as consumers to keep informed, ask questions, and it will be up to companies to keep (or get more) transparent when these new techs are being used.
