Hey everyone, So as I was going through some copyright claims on the channel, I noticed that Crazy Little Thing Called Love was claimed by GloboTV for Rio. They claim it has been used in a documentary of theirs called “ Rock In Rio A Historia - Que a vida começasse agora. Now, going by that, it’s a possibility that there could be better quality footage on this documentary of the show. But, it requires you to have some sort of TV subscription to access it. MyDish or Sling. Would anyone be able to help confirm what footage may be on this documentary, I’m very curious! globoplay.globo.com/v/10796934/?s=0s-Chin

For context: Globo TV is Brazil's biggest and most popular TV network. Older Rock in Rio editions were always broadcast by them, and more recent editions have been broadcast by cable TV channels that belong to Globo's group, such as Multishow. Globoplay is their streaming service. Anyone with a free account can watch their open channels online, and there are several different subscription plans which can give you access to exclusive content, cable channels' content and live soccer. You'll probably need to find a Brazilian to help you - although I hear some of Globo's soap operas are very popular in Portugal, Mozambique, Angola, and perhaps others among the few Portuguese-speaking countries around the world. As far as I know Globoplay isn't available as part of other bigger, international subscription services. At most it's sometimes sold in bundles with services such as Disney+ (but you have to acquire the bundle through Globo, not through Disney, and they remain as independent services, with independent apps, except you get a discount at your subscription). I'm honestly not sure how popular Globoplay is here in Brazil - I don't know anyone who subscribes, all my friends and family seem happy with pretty much the same services most of the world watches, such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and HBO Max, and the few who care enough about soccer seem to prefer to just subscribe to the premium soccer channels rather than buy the Globoplay bundle. If I ever change my mind about subscribing and we fail to find a Globoplay subscriber here on this board until then, I'll be happy to dig into their catalogue for anything Queen-related and/or Rock in Rio-related, but right now I've been failing to find enough time to enjoy the services I already pay for...

Hey, brazilian here I don't use GloboPlay(it isn't really that popular here in Brazil, and Globo has lost a lot of popularity in recent years) but my friend does, and according to his description (he's not a huge Queen fan, but he knows the basics), the documentary shows one interview with Freddie and two songs(it seems that what is shown are not the complete performances, only excerpts): I Want To Break Free and Love Of My Life. The quality of the interview and the songs are not great, so I assume they are from the original Globo broadcast. Hope this helps, but feel free to ask anything else As any brazilian in the internet would say, sorry for my bad english

I have just watched its first episode. I am sorry that it took me so long to do it and come back to report.
The previous reports and context are spot on. I would just add that, appart from Freddie’s interview snippets, there are a couple of modern Brian interview snippets and one by Roger. They mention Love of My Life is in the Bo Rhap movie and that it was a "crazy" idea back then to pull this whole "Rio" thing off.
Cheers,
Ogre-
