Houston's My Melancholy Blues being included fascinates me. It's pretty commonly agreed that QPL doesn't possess multitracks for Houston, I wonder if they will be re-releasing the mono soundboard track that came with the NOTW boxset. I personally think that they have nothing more than that in the archives. I'd love to be proven wrong. I think it's going to be the same mono soundboard track, they wouldn't change sources for a single song that not many people will care about (sadly) Realistically, I think so too; but who knows what could happen in 5 years, you know? Maybe they could have somehow found the multitracks or a stereo copy. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I mean, for the NOTW 40th anniversary documentary, they edited Freddie’s vocal during the 2nd pre chorus as his voice broke a bit @54:09. So they surely must have the multitracks available. -Chin

They also completely replaced the WATC interlude to fix 1 piano mistake, rather than just taking the piano track. On said thread, there's a lot more in-depth analysis on the topic, but the general consensus is that that overdub was simply just AI isolation, copy pasted from the other pre-chorus. I highly suggest you take a look at that to further understand what I mean.

They also did Calling All Girls and Action This Day from Tokorozawa, I definitely wouldn't call those relevant to the public either.

So, we write off all HD videos except IWIA? We still have to wait for the release to confirm. But so far it looks like only IWIA will be in real HD, which makes me pretty sad.

I wonder why Doro wouldn’t be willing to supply masters of the music video‘s, Is the relationship that bad?

Randomly looks like this was uploaded yesterday on the official channel. I think that’s the same version that was included in the 2011 deluxe editions.

The boxset with press kit replica and teaser tape has sold out 😂 anyone here got it? Yeah, because to me it's worth paying for it now at list price instead of possibly significantly more a few months later after thinking about it constantly and scouring eBay and Discogs for a deal. Yup, never done that before.

Another product shot, this time with a poster, which isn't seen on the Queen Online shop. It's seen on other sites like Amazon UK though. The Japanese edition of the box set and 2-CD set can come with either a bonus B2-size poster or a A4-size file folder, depending on where it's purchased, but I don't think this is it. In fact, the Amazon UK listing says it includes two posters, but it doesn't say that on QOL. Also, QOL's page says it includes a 76-page book, but Amazon UK is advertising an 84-page book.

I decided to go with the 2 CD version from Queen On-Line at $16.99. Even with postage to the US, I save $7 versus buying "locally" from Amazon.com at $29.99. The only downside for me is I won't receive it until December (and hopefully before 2024).
Since buying the Queen Rainbow and the Roger Taylor The Lot box sets eight years or so ago for reasonable prices, I have become miserly and unwilling to spend "big money" on the later fluff filled box sets. My sentimentality for Queen faded long ago.

I wonder why Doro wouldn’t be willing to supply masters of the music video‘s, Is the relationship that bad? Money I would suspect. Prime example, Brian May expected Rudi Dolezal to give him the master tapes of The Magic Years & the B-roll for free. That never happened.

Wasn't it discussed that 'Water' could be an alternative title to the 'River of Words' demo?

I hope Water is the exceedingly over-percussioned version of Rain Must Fall referenced in (I think) the Mike Read interview. Only jumping to this conclusion by connecting water and rain, and the fact that I'd REALLY like to hear that version

Interesting that they seem to mention many times that Breakthru interview is the last John gave? At least during filming of These Are the Days of Our lives he gave some interviews?
Yeah, but the 1991 interviews weren't complete interviews...but it's quite strange they don't acknowledge the 1991 interviews. Not the first time QPL would be wrong on something. By the way, I knew that they're wouldn't be BTS of The Miracle or The Invisible Man...we'll get the same sh....that we got on GVH2.

I seriously hope they're not gonna use the butchered video's from GVH2 where the video's were sized up and ending up looking horrible.

Some of the songs from the box set were played at the fan club convention today.
A friend who is there singled out the original take of IWIA. “We weren’t told what it was, had no clue until the vocals came in”. Also said Breakthru with real drums was nice but didn’t hear them say if they were from 1988 or added recently.

I think it's doubtful anything has been added recently to Breakthru. They must have done 'live' studio takes of it before deciding to replace real musicians with processed sounds.

I watched over and over... I can't believe they went for AI upscaling. I'd never expect to see it on an official release of any artist. It's ok to see it on a fan upgrade and such, but come on, I can't get past those "plastic" faces and double lines (edges). I'm glad the box set is out finally and looking forward for the new gems it might hold, as everyone already combed over, but the AI uspcaling, to me, is just the same as blunt autotuning. There are better ways to do these things. I wonder who gets to decide those major decisions and how people get a job at QPL. I really do. I feel better artists and more skilfull people might fill those shoes.
Scandal is one of my alltime favourites, both the song and the video, they are all simply fantastic there and the song blew me out of water when I was a kid. Still can't get enough of it. Still trying to decypher that line that comes after "yes, you're breaking my heart again". I was really looking forward to see a proper video restoration. I read above that the original tapes aren't available. OK. Get the best you have and give it to some video wizard (we all know a few names capable enough, here on forum alone) and make a proper HD version. AI upscaling sucks...

Long Lost Original LP Cut The Miracle as never heard before. Sourced from a master tape from March 1989, the Long Lost Cut reinstates ‘Too Much Love Will Kill You’ as it was originally intended, in the exact position on Side One allotted in 1989, nestled between ‘I Want It All’ and ‘The Invisible Man’. The updated LP sleeve presents the album with a gatefold cover for the first time in its history.
So, the vinyl is not the "ludwig '11" remaster?

I've lost track a bit on the TMLWKY issue. Is it or is it not a different version to the version on MIH? The above seems to suggest it's just been put back in the right place "as it was originally intended", but that doesn't imply it's a different version to the one we know.
By all accounts, the version on MIH is the version that was meant to appear on The Miracle. So where is there any indication that the box set version will be different?

This was posted on Twitter by journalist @journopaulb (Paul Bradbury), who's at the Fan Convention. He wrote: "It's a replica of Brian's original ad, rewritten by the man himself at Simon's request for a new video project that'll be released next month." Thoughts on what it could be? If it's going to be released next month, my guess is that it's for a music video for possibly Was it All Worth It, since a video for that song originally appeared on the DVD/BR tracklist for the box set. I could see it being used in a flashback scene, matching the overall lyrics of the song. Brian has certainly explored similar themes for a couple of his most recent music videos to promote his box sets.

It is necessary to find out if all videos are in HD well done from the negatives and not from AI.

I don't know why they would ultimately decide not to include it, but the fact that it was originally on the list suggests that a (likely new) video was at the very least considered for inclusion, and in what other way could that ad have a connection to The Miracle? (Just explaining my thought process, and I'm fully prepared to be wrong!) Who knows, maybe they want to save a physical release for an eventual Greatest Video Hits 3? Also, for the News of the World box set, they didn't include the video for All Dead, All Dead. There was no collection of music videos for the News of the World box, but they certainly could have added that music video to the documentary DVD that came with the box.
