Not sure, if this is the right place to bring this up, but here is a new Interview with Brian in which he speaks about Face it alone, the Miracle, the possibility of a 2023 Tour, doesn't rule out to record with Adam, Eddie Van Halen, the re-Release of Starfleet...I thought there is a lot of interesting stuff. variety.com/2022/music/news/brian-may-queen-1235434889/

Re Star Fleet:
"And, even more than “The Miracle,” we are going to give you everything. Every take of every song. The things gone wrong, the laughing, the finding new things to do."
Interesting... He's going to have to do some work to make a box set out of three tracks.

Great! I'm looking forward to this release coming around mid 2023 according to that interview.

A welcome change of heart after being protective of their creative process for so long - which I can understand was important when they were in it, as a magician never wants to give up his secrets. But we're in the day and age of the box set now, and no doubt he's been inspired by what The Beatles have done with their back catalogue.
I can only hope he feels this way about the first five Queen albums sooner than later.

problem is those first five LPs will be a lot of work, and - even at only one boxset LP per year - I'm not sure Brian/Roger sees themselves as "in that for the long haul".
Something of that scale requires a George/Giles Martin or Jimmy Page commitment. And let's face it - "protective or not" I can't see Brian/Roger trusting the whole process to any of the QPL fools to get it right.

I agree; putting together box sets for the first 5 Queen albums will be quite the task to 'get right'. In the meantime, we can look forward to a Star Fleet box/expanded re-release with numerous extras.

A welcome change of heart after being protective of their creative process for so long Words. We've had words before. "Rolling setlist" is an example that comes to mind.

And let's face it - "protective or not" I can't see Brian/Roger trusting the whole process to any of the QPL fools to get it right. Personally, I think Brian and Roger do trust the "QPL fools" to do virtually the whole process these days. The way Brian and Roger have been talking about Face It Alone and the Miracle boxset, it seems quite obvious to me that they've had little personal involvement in the project(s). They may be protective in the sense that they block the release of certain things that may make the band look bad, but they seem quite happy to trust QPL with the mixing and production of their music.
If they wanted to release a perfect boxset of A Night at the Opera, I agree that it would require a George/Giles Martin commitment. However, we shouldn't expect a Queen boxset to be perfect. I think Brian and Roger would happily trust QPL with the release of a News of the World style boxset of any album. (I would still love to see all the Bob Harris footage and interviews, but perhaps they're saving that for the release of Houston '77 or the 100th anniversary edition.)
In short, I feel quite confident that we'll get a good, but not great boxset of all the albums, released in a random order, over the next 20 years. Then they'll start again with remixes, etc.

Reading this, I just have to say that the last decade or so, has been a very good time to be a Queen fan. The band's been touring a lot, the movie was a big hit, and they have released interesting stuff like Rainbow 74, BBC Sessions, NOTW & Miracle boxes, even Forever was not just about re-releasing the old hits, but there was "new" songs included... Roger's been absolutely ON FIRE the last couple years with new studio and live albums, and Brian has re-released his old solo stuff with some interesting bonuses. I FEEL SPOILED! I still remember the time, when new Queen activity meant Bri & Ror appearing on a soft drink ad or collaborating with some emerging (and soon forgotten) boy band. The last years have been something else. Thanks for this interview! It was a great read. I just hope the new releases keep coming...

Well, I received The Miracle box today, so that might also have something to do with my positive mood.

He's going to have to do some work to make a box set out of three tracks. He says this, but watch it become untrue in no time. I mean, it's either misleading (there can't be much worth publishing) or we're absolutely not getting "everything". I'd be highly surprised if he went and released a jam session or something. That said, I am happy to be as wrong as one can be.

Compared to 20 years ago, back then we were experiencing Queen's midlife identity crisis with Brian and Roger limping around trying to get the brand off the ground again with no real singer in place, making very questionable and sometimes bizarre choices, it would not have been indicative back then that they would have ever really gotten back to where they are now. What a good time to be in now, indeed.

Virtually a cut and paste article here: www.loudersound.com/news/queen-adam-lambert-plotting-2023-tourI think he's been saying "one more time" regarding tours for the last decade! I guess it's different to "one last time", but hopefully they would finish their touring related activities in the UK, when the time comes. That said, I don't know how they would top the recent 'Rhapsody' shows. They were off the charts spectacular.
