Hello everybody.
This below is an interview with John Deacon, held by journalist Patrick Humphries and published in the British music magazine Rock Express (issue 103) in March-April 1986. Entitled Highland Queen, the interview (held on the occasion of the band's 15th anniversary) mainly deals with the details of the composition of the soundtrack for the film 'Highlander', but also other topics including the participation of Queen at Live Aid, the band's future tour and Deacon's solo activity in 1985 (both the making of the track 'No Turning Back' - of which the title is not given - and the collaboration with Errol Brown of Hot Chocolate). Interestingly, John claims the song was not chosen for the film but 'could be released as a single'. The end of the article is dedicated to Queen's forthcoming album, whose title is still unknown; Humphries writes that it will be the soundtrack of the film 'Highlander' but does not provide other details.
Enjoy your reading!

Well, who would have known.... no info on splitting up, John Deacon must have been awfully untruthful back then! No respect for fans or journalists! Mind you, he may say what you want but I have seen the movie;) !

An interesting thing I read in this interview concerns hypothetical concerts in the Far East; John says that aside from Japan, the band hasn't had the chance to play anywhere else, citing Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand as hypothetical destinations for future shows. A pity that they have not had the opportunity to extend the 'Magic Tour' by visiting these territories.
