In a tweet from Tarantura, it seems more Mr Peach Queen tapes exist."おはよう御座います。 今日は雨予報だけど晴れて来た新宿です。 本日の営業時間;午後1時〜午後5時までです。 珍しく遅刻したピーチ。開演後到着なので頭カット。しかし音質はバツグン❣️" "Good morning. It's raining today, but it's sunny in Shinjuku. Business hours today: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Peach is unusually late. I arrived after the performance, so I had a head cut. But the sound quality is outstanding ❣️"

FTFY. Can't get excited about Tarantura releases anymore because most of them sound like garbage. Unless they stop this nonsense, the matrix of the two existing sources will remain the definitive copy.
Apparently 4/4/76 exists too, but won't be released because Mr Peach's real name is mentioned somewhere on the tape.

^This. You just have to wonder what's the deal with Tarantura compressing these recordings harder than a Rick Rubin-produced album.
Another thing I've been meaning to ask: I noticed there was never a Mr. Peach recording of the '85 concerts. Anyone know why?

Why would his real name be an issue 46 years later? The statute of limitations for criminal taping of concerts must be significant in Japan....

Starting around late 2019, they started employing a new sound guy who doesn't compress them (he still is not good at his job though!) I think the 3/31 and 4/1 matrixes sound very unnatural on the louder sections and I'd take even a compressed Mr. Peach tape over those.
Strange they'd hold back 4/4 for that reason - surely they can edit that out digitally (and not the first time I've heard of something like that done to a tape.)

Even if it is illegal would the police come knocking on his door?

Even if it is illegal would the police come knocking on his door? I think it's more of a privacy issue than any kind of legal concern. Japanese authorities are of course very lax on commercial bootlegging, so surely they wouldn't care about the taper's name. A lot of people simply don't want their names out there, and understandably so.

Well, that's a bit encouraging to hear then.
