Roger Taylor, Brian May, Freddie Mercury and John Deacon, four musicians who identify themselves under one name: "Queen". The popular band will perform next Wednesday, March 4th at the Estadio Mundialista. Beyond other performances, the presentation of this band will undoubtedly mark a milestone in the landscape of Argentine popular music.
QUEEN WITH A CRAZY DISPLAY
"Next Wednesday, March 4, Queen will be in Mar del Plata," said Ricardo Polera, the entrepreneur from Mar del Plata who signed the contract hours ago in the Federal Capital with the promoter of the tour in Argentina, Alfredo Capalbo.
The story is not short, for several years it has been thought that a series of names of important groups appear in our country, but there was never more than one offer that was not enough to tempt and attract the attention of this or that group. However, a series of circumstances occurred which led to what is now a reality - Queen in the country. And among these, the value in dollars was fundamental.
Queen are, without a doubt, one of the most important bands in the world; they are an example of how a band can go through changes in fashion without getting hurt. For the group, the punk revolution and its school, the new wave, were simply stimuli for the expansion of the band's following. "The Game", their latest album, represents a major shift in the group's musical direction and has allowed them to make music that is more direct, less symphonic and more in step with the times.
The Argentinian public will be able to attend the first shows of 1981, with a renewed stage setting which includes a stage measuring 50 meters by 18, on which one hundred and twenty loudspeakers will be mounted which will make up the directional sound diffusion system, an almost perfect mechanism which will allow the group to be perfectly audible from 10 meters to 10 kilometers. They complete seven pneumatic cranes that support as many racks with 80 seats each. When Rivaro Polera was consulted, he commented that tickets will go on sale, in places that will be previously advertised next Monday, and their cost will be between 50,000 and 120,000 pesos.
