hi everyone, I don't know if anyone will be interested, but anyway I ask you for help. After years of excellent and faithful work my 16 year old laptop with windows xp and all the software i used for my remixes is dead, definitely gone😞😞😞. I have my 2 year old mac notebook, but being of a certain age (therefore a bit hard to change), I no longer know what to use instead of my classic Acid pro 4 and soundforge 6 (which were my creative hotbed). the new PCs and/or notebooks no longer let me load the software on window 10 or 11 and even window XP. who of you creates remixes what do you use? after so many years I feel sad that I can no longer “create”….if you can help me I will appreciate it immensely. thank you very much to all of you and have a good life.

I haven't done anything much for ages, but I've always used either Adobe Audition 3.0 or Soundforge Pro 10 (or a combination of both). Both of these work on Windows 10, but I don't know about Windows 11 as I've not ventured into that as yet.
Audacity is, of course, free, but I've never got on with it particularly well.

Cakewalk is a formerly-commercial sequencer and DAW which was made free when BandLab bought it a few years ago. They've continued to release new free versions since. You could give that a try? Windows only. www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalkDaVinci Resolve is a video editor which has a very capable free version as well as a paid “Studio” version with some extra features (AI upscaling, 3D audio etc.). Both versions include the Fairlight DAW, integrated into Resolve. Fairlight also used to be a standalone commercial product. Windows, Mac, and Linux. www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/davinciresolve/fairlight

I'll try them as soon as I can. 👍
