Hi everyone.
This beautiful article is titled Secrets of a rock craftsman and was written by the British journalist Chris Hayes for the music magazine Melody Maker, in which it was published on November 3rd, 1973. It is an in-depth analysis of Brian May and, in particular, on his Red Special: Hayes interviews Brian, who explains to readers how he built his guitar and the material it is made of. It is also noted that Brian plays it with three old Vox AC 30 amps (Hayes writes that "the guitar was built seven years ago and now uses with devastating effect with Queen").
This interview follows somewhat the same line as the one written by Rex Anderson and published in the Record Mirror of July 7th, 1973: queenchat.boards.net/thread/3828/brian-interview-anderson-record-mirrorThis article was also published during a very good time for the band in England; although the first album went a bit on the sly, just a week later - on November 10th - Disc magazine published a very positive review of their show at Imperial College London (written by Rosemary Horide). On November 12th, Queen began their British tour from Leeds in support of Mott The Hoople, which gave them great satisfaction.Enjoy your reading!
