Mike Moran said in an interview a few months ago that All God's People was the first song he and Freddie wrote after Time project. It's not intended for Barcelona. It went a long of changes when Queen took it for Innuendo.
This piece of info is new to me, so I would like to share it here. Cheers.

I would love to hear the early work in progress versions pre Queen input. They would have been a great addition to the Freddie solo box set. It would be great to hear a stripped back version in Freddie’s 86/87 voice. Maybe one day

Nothing was "intended" for Barcelona in '86, but it is something of a surprise that once there WAS a Barcelona album to be written (and knowing how short of material they were, needing to use Tim Rice for lyrics and padding the album out with the last track), it's something of a surprise that it wasn't "taken back" from Queen in '87.
Maybe Queen worked on it "too much" for that to be a possibility, although that seems unlikely given the timing, plus they'd managed to figure out such things previously with Love Kills.

It was the first track Freddie worked on with Mike Moran for his second solo album most probably in the beginnig of 1987 when all these demos from Rarities 3 CD were recorded. Then the whole project was droped because of 'Barcelona' project arrival around April 1987. The song then was brought to Queen in 1988 for a possible 'The Miracle' inclusion. Then it was shelved for another two years and finally finished during 'Innuendo' sessios.

I always thought the idea that it was intended for Barcelona was a bit stupid because there's no way it would fit with the rest of the album.

I always liked the difference in Freddie's tone and reverb (on the repeated words "then I", or just around 2 min. mark) between 1987 and 1990 recording sessions. I seem to remember someone pointed it out on the old Queenzone. Clearly the first 2 minutes of the song were recorded earlier, and the rest of the song during the Innuendo sessions.

It would be great to hear a stripped back version in Freddie’s 86/87 voice. Maybe one day It is actually that voice that we're hearing on most of the song. Freddie's tone is obviously very different from the rest of the album and contains the tics and affects of his 87/88 almost overpowered Miracle period tone. A good comparison is the line "Rule with your heart and live with your conscience" that has been clearly overdubbed during the later times innuendo sessions, as his timbre had massively changed by then.

For me All god's people - one of the worst Queen songs... sorry. Even Delilah I like a little bit more.
