Hi everyone.
Today's article is titled BONKERS. Queen: 16 albums later and still a law unto themselves and was published in a British magazine in 1991; this is a review of Queen's 'Innuendo' album. As the title suggests, the review is not positive, as the band is heavily criticized for its musical style and only a few songs from the new album are appreciated. The author of the review is John Aizlewood, a famous British journalist, currently a critic for several English newspapers (including the Evening Standard), who has never been a fan of the band; a few years ago, Aizlewood defined Paul Rodgers (about his collaboration with Queen) as "someone who appealed to the worst aspects of the Queen catalog [...] This means that Queen had recruited the only man in the Western world who didn't know the words to 'We Are The Champions' to be Queen singer".
Note: in the last lines of the article, Aizlewood also criticizes Queen's solo projects, but praises John Deacon's open careful drumming; I believe that the latter is not a mistake by the journalist, but simply a typo in the transcription of the article. Or maybe not. Enjoy the reading.

The review is from Q magazine, and in fact Queen had the front cover and main 'story' in that issue, a long and detailed interview with Brian.

The album review itself names seven tracks - five positively: Innuendo: "mighty behemoth"IGSM: "makes the idea work"Headlong: "spectacularly convincing..."Hitman: "repeats trick..."TATDOOL: "...though not entirely without charm" two negatively: All God's People: "overblown histrionics" Bijou: - "horrible, scrawny..." if you put the review into context - the changing music scene at the time, the fact that classic rock had already been shunted into the sidings by Grunge - I'd say that's pretty objective - as reviews go

Maybe it was me, in a moment of heavy distraction, who got lost in understanding the text of the review...I'm sorry.
