In '39 live at Hyde Park, which can be found Here, Brian mentions doing this with the London Philharmonic. I believe he or Freddie said this before and my question is to if this ever happened, was meant to happen, or was just a joke? All the best, F.H.

It’s a repeated joke in live.

They pretty much make that joke over and over again throughout the first two tour legs that '39 are played on. It's nothing to really take seriously. That said, the National Philharmonic Orchestra worked with Queen later on for Who Wants To Live Forever. Not exactly the same, but pretty close.

There are also two or three albums of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra playing arrangements of various Queen songs, without any of the original band.
Doesn't look like ’39 is on any of those though

In fact, on the News of the World Tour Freddie mentions this part of his Races Tour speech during their show in Rotterdam: "I think the last time we were here we said, or I said that we would come back with an orchestra. Do you remember? Well, forget about it! Forget about it, we're not gonna do that. I think it's much better just the four of us. Yes, yes, I was wrong. For once in my life I was wrong!"

an attempt to "symphonize" '39 there was in Tenerife (starmus 2019) a few years ago and in my opinion it was a great idea, what do you think? .... let's hope it happens officially

I always find Brian's earnest hand-gesture acting to be endearingly cheesy. Well, Brian is still a guitarist, he probably just doesn't really know what to do with his hands. Reminds me a bit of James Hetfield at the FMTC singing SCC, it's hilarious, cause he obviously has no idea what to do with his hands

I wonder who did the arrangement ? The "space travel" section peaking at 2:08 is marvellous with the French horn doing the descending line. Reminds me of Rick Wakeman's recent gospel re-arrangement of The Meeting off the Anderson/Bruford/Wakeman/Howe album. I love that artists are doing new things with the old.

I've noticed when Brian is singing but not playing a guitar or piano his hands dont know where to go so they come up and start roaming around. Haha it's so goofy and endearing.
