Hello everybody.
Today's article is titled Solid debut effort by "Queen" and is essentially a review of the band's debut album; I have no idea which newspaper it is, but the source from which I got this article claims it is an English student newspaper dated January 11th, 1974...unlikely, as the catalog number of the album is EKS 75064, which is the catalogue number of the American and Canadian editions issued by Elektra in 1973 (in the UK and Europe, the album was released on the EMI label).
Apart from these small details, the review is really very positive: Queen are praised for their musical style (compared to that of Led Zeppelin and The Who) and several songs are appreciated, including 'Great King Rat', ' Doing All Right', 'Liar' and 'My Fairy King'. John Deacon, as well as being referred to as Deacon John (as in the album credits after all), is also cited as a backing vocalist along with Roger Taylor.
Enjoy the reading!
