The book has arrived. It's NOT a catalogue. It's a book about (some) of the items in the auction. Whilst I've only flicked through the pages (twice), I didn't notice any photos of the record industry awards and most of the handwritten stuff that has made it to the book is cropped because of the page placement. SO. Bottom line is this: capturing the images from the online catalogue is the ONLY way to keep a record of many of the items that we, as fans, will be interested in - unless, of course, Greg Brooks has managed to obtain permission to use them in his Solo volume(s) of 'I want it all" which, at this rate, won't be seen for a few more years yet. Brian's Wig, can you, please, say - are there a lot of photographs of Freddie himself in the book? Thank you in advance Not that many, but there's a lovely one of mid 70's Freddie sat at his piano.

I’m not sure if this posted here already. Just found a virtual tour of the exhibition 3D tour of SothebysThere are two another versions of "Miracle" tracklist here my.matterport.com/show/?m=zy9XT5sUK5b&sr=-2.17,.43&ss=96 which were present in the description of the lot but with no pictures available of them. Unfortunately one is blocked from view by another, but on the one which is visible we can see some unknown songs and bits. You need to copy paste the link manually as the board doesn't recognize part after comma as a link. It will bring you at the exact place in the room.

I could spend hours floating round that place.

I'm planning to go sometime end of this week... if anyone has a list of things we need in detail that's in the virtual tour but not in the catalogue (like the above), pls let me know 🙏 I'm not knowledgeable enough to identify specific, important bits by myself when I wander there so I'd love to help if provided directions.

One of the titles above All God’s People, obscured by the angle, appears to be My Life Has Been Saved. Not sure if there’s another one completely obscured. I can’t figure out the last title, but it appears to be followed by “(Brian)”. Looks like Overture, but that wouldn’t make sense as the last title in a project!

I would agree that it appears to say Overture. There's a note next to it that reads, "Into No. 7 Chinese Strings" so it's at the bottom of the list but not meant to be the last track. Interesting that we're looking at 21 tracks on the list, and it doesn't even include six songs that made it onto the finished album, including three singles and a fan favourite (Was It All Worth It). Also, we know they were going to call the album The Invisible Men before switching to The Miracle... I wonder if they had other album titles in mind when this list was written? They were already noting Side 1 by some tracks and there's enough material here for a full album so I wouldn't be surprised if they had preliminary discussions about the album title. Track 16 is "Try Again"... any chance this was Why Don't We Try Again?

Doesn't make sense to have My Baby Loves Me as the opening track either! 😁 I think these lists just serve to account for the work in progress and decisions for the any kind of final tracklist were far way at that point. On that tracklist in red you can see there are annotations (side 1) which in one instance is accompanied by a question mark. I guess that's an indication that the selection of tracks for the final cut was underway and nowhere close to to being finished. Now, going back to the original lot listing - www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2023/freddie-mercury-a-world-of-his-own-on-stage/freddie-mercury-notebook-containing-autograph?locale=enWe can see that all 14 tracks repeat in the same order and have the same length except Scandal, which omits an extention 3:30-4:30. I think it's safe to say that on the very next page or backside of this page we would see the continuation of the list we see at exhibition if we were able to do it.

Brian said in an interview somewhere that Why Don't We Try Again was a Queen-era song that was tabled until he recorded it for Another World in 1998.

Nice spot.....So there could be a Freddie vocal of this song? It must have been recorded by someone if the length of the song is written down 5.08.

Hmmm, his record collection gets a little less interesting. 12 copies of AKOM, 2 of Live Magic, 3 Hot Space and 6 The Miracle. Plenty of other duplicates in there, although I can't identify what they're duplicates OF.

I'll have to have a look on a bigger screen. I'm sure he must have had some more recent technology than that old music centre, but I've yet to come across anything.

I was really hoping to find those five additional songs from Sheer Heart Attack that were whittled off the final running order. Obviously one of them is the title track but I’m so intrigued by this kind of stuff that I find it mildly irritating that all this info—and this is just scratching the surface; I can’t imagine what May’s archives contain—will probably never be revealed. Yeah it’s a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things, but Queen in the studio, especially unreleased stuff, has always intrigued me, and the lack of a definitive overview of their recording sessions is really a shame.

I suppose it's quite possible that some information is in the notebooks which are not viewable. Guess the only way to know for sure is to bid for them! 😁 One thing that crossed my mind, and it probably says more about my way of thinking than theirs, is that I wonder if Freddie did have the No.1 blue Bo Rhap single, and someone... er... swapped it? 😱🤔😄
