I managed to do a screen capture of one of the handwritten lyrics, and you can see writing that is on the other side of the paper! After reversing the image it is part of a note about buying a car (a cadillac with no money down). I am not sure whose handwriting it is(I am presuming Freddie`s. Did he actually drive back in the 70`s?) but its very interesting. Sorry I can`t post it here but if you do your detective work you will find it.

Greg Brooks took down his fb post regarding his feelings on the auction... Very interesting! What did he think?

There are, as best I can establish, 64 certified sales awards. We can see from the photos that some of them were up on the walls - I wonder which? There are also hundreds missing - there are no German ones, and very few multi-platinum ones, plus everything that went Gold also went Silver (and the existence of a Bo Rhap silver disc pretty much proves that Gold records were also issued Silver, as it probably toook about 4 days to go from Silver to Gold) I accept many will have been given away, but given he kept all the 2nd hand clothing he was wearing in 1973... I'll bet at least some of these can be found at Hard Rock Cafes around the world. There's also a story of Roger giving away his gold award for Live Killers to the comedian Carrot Top, even though he had just met him. I guess when you receive so many awards over the years, you get more comfortable giving some away, especially since they can take up quite a bit of space. I guess Freddie didn't mind clearing up wall space for his growing fine art collection? Here's a pic from 1978 from Freddie's home (you can also see the New of the World clock and Music Life award): Carrot Top story: www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/1545745/Queen-drummer-Roger-Taylor-generosity-Carrot-Top

The more I look through the lots, the more I wonder where the hell he kept all this stuff!
And also, it must have been quite a job packing everything up and getting to the auctioneers, as presumably it would have needed to have been done in relative secrecy.

Auctioneers do this for you and they are very discrete...for a fee. As Freddie once said "The bigger the better"

why are there parentheses around some of the song titles? - Now It's Over is annotated with "(ballad)," so did they have a rock or pop version as well? - most of the tracks are annotated with "Band"; exceptions include I Want It All, which has "Brian" written followed by "John Roger" crossed out. Even "Chinese Strings" is annotated with "Band" so I don't know what the significance of this is It's the writing credits, before everything got shared. It wouldn't surprise me if "ballad" was actually "Band"

Lot 2181 - includes 80 mock up covers for a Radio Ga Ga album, some signed..... was The Works originally called that? Pity we can't see any of it.... That Radio Ga Ga mock-up is for an unreleased alternative 7" picture sleeve.
A few slipped out in the 90s, mostly unfolded, and are now in the hands of collectors.

Lot 605 - the bar bill from the Hendersons party in '85 probably works out at about £40k in current values.... now THAT'S a party In 1985 one Deutsche Mark was $0.30, which gives us a total of $25.6k. In current values that's actually $72.5k (i.e. £57k or €66k)!

And some are LASER copies. So be careful.

Lot 2113, interesting notes there... "Tour at the moment -- no direction" "Both record companies not behind us" "Nothing new to offer"
Lot 2190, imagine sending Freddie some fanart in the mid-80s and having it show up in a Sotheby's auction...

Those canadian disc awards haven't fared so well, nor the RIAA for "Bites The Dust". Well, there's some really nice stuff there. It's just a shame that as far as photos etc are concerned, they don't show us more than a handful on each listing.

Anyone able to download all the images at ones from the website? I can only download the pictures from one auction together with my software, which needs hell of a time. Would be great to safe everything digital from that website for us.

Would be great to safe everything digital from that website for us. Posted yesterday... Guys, sorry but I've removed a couple of posts. We can't be openly discussing how to circumvent the copyrights to download the images. Good luck if you've managed to do it yourself, but please refrain from posting methods on here. Thanks. I've already removed posts discussing this, but I will repeat again - we cannot reproduce the images on the Sotheby's website as they are copyrighted, and we cannot discuss methods of circumventing the copyright protection to download the images.

So now it is to imagine, what Brian May´s collection includes. He collects way more music orientated, as Freddie Mercury did. His collection must include way more treasures than Freddie Mercury´s Collection and the whole Queen archives together!

a beautiful exhibition, a special set of auctions in Freddie's style, a wonderful book, Freddie's collections are full of soul, deep thought and heart... I'm so-so impressed.
Dear friends, maybe somebody can explain it to me or share their guess, why is it so - for example, 'The Evening Sale' auction ends on a lot number 59, and the next one starts already with the lot number 101, and the same goes for the other auctions - a handful of numbers of lots look like they are missing from the order. Why is it so? Thank you in advance for your explanation

It is something that auction houses do, just in case there are other lots to be added to that section. Hope this helps.

Lot 2190, imagine sending Freddie some fanart in the mid-80s and having it show up in a Sotheby's auction... There's one Japanese fan that recognizes a shirt they gifted him that's now in the auction. Also, in the auction there's a photo of Freddie at home playing with one of his cats with a cat toy. This toy was handed to Freddie directly by another Japanese fan a year earlier when he visited Japan in 1986, so her post about it went viral on Twitter.

A very notable fact is there are absolutely no words about that auctions on queenonline or statements from Brian May and Roger Taylor. Seems QP is not very happy about that auctions.
Still hope QP will buy most of the Queen historic items! I talk about costumes, acetate’s, lyrics and so on.

Well I hope these images will still be available somewhere after the auction, or someone is making copious notes, because there is much knowledge that that we may otherwise lose. Top pix, fax and info, indeed.
For example - there's a very early photo of Deacy (with mid length long hair) playing his Rickenbacker in the studio - we've seen pics before of Freddie in the same studio but it was normally assumed that was at Trident. (There's a couple more too, one of Freddie singing holding a pile of lyrics.) Is that in fact De Lane Lea then, and are they pics of the pre-record deal demo sessions?
Anyway. Anyone going to bid? Something delicious about the idea of owning a set of Freddie's old wine glasses. In terms of internal decor, art and even crockery etc he really did have exquisite (and expensive, naturally) taste.
