I know we're not there yet, but 2025 is not *that* far away, and with it will most certainly come the inevitable ANATO/Bo Rhap 50th Anniversary celebration. I was thinking about what Queen might put out to mark the release of their most critically acclaimed album, but apart from the mandatory picture disc and maybe a reproduction of the limited edition blue Bo Rhap single, I don't know what else they could have to offer, musically speaking. A box set? Maybe, but containing what? Are there any interesting unreleased songs from these sessions? Any notable show from this era that was professionally recorded (apart from the show at the Odeon)?
I wouldn't be surprised if they rehashed the "Making of" DVD into YouTube clips, and we can take for granted they will have a ton of different models of t-shirts, pins, tote bags, etc. for sale, but what's your thoughts about possible objects of interest that might be released?

The 24 track multitrack has already leaked.
There's nothing of interest that could possibly be released compared to that, in terms of Bo Rhap.
In terms of ANATO... A deluxe edition is a nice idea, except...
- QPL aren't very good at them - they've only done two in 6 years - only one of those lined up with an anniversary

Unless they've got some big surprises in store, much of any release would be rehashed from previous releases. I've lost count of the amount of times I've bought this album in its various formats, so it will have to be something special for me to buy it again.

......a “Miracle style” boxset….🥴 Well, if it had unheard versions and outtakes, I'd be in, but I won't hold my breath. TBH, I'd rather have a Jazz box set, with the whole thing properly remixed, plus a disc of outtakes, plus a full unreleased live show from the Jazz tour. I'll keep on dreaming...

A £200 box set with all the usual things, and to get people to buy the box set, it will included John Deacons remix of Bo-Rap. If it exists would people buy it then, just for one song? Please don`t take this as gospel it is only a assumption.

......a “Miracle style” boxset….🥴 what they did with "Opera" in 2011 - pretty much a barrel-scraper, would tend to indicate there may not be much to fill a boxset.

But we don't know what there may be in the vaults that hasn't been public knowledge. The Miracle box had some previously unknown songs that was a nice surprise. Granted, a few previously unknown 'new' songs probably won't fill a disc but throw in some different takes that we also dont know about and also a disc or two of live stuff, that we also haven't heard officially, and we have a possible decent box set. It would be a product worth buying for me.

I thought I heard that the 70’s doesn’t have as many outakes as the 80’s does.

I thought I heard that the 70’s doesn’t have as many outakes as the 80’s does. but one can think that somewhere, unknown to us, there are in full the three songs that generated BoRap; moreover they could "throw" into the box set (if they do) everything that is prior to ANATO and never officially released….mah

The 40th anniversary release was A Night at the Odeon. I think a 50th anniversary boxset fate will be decided by the last boxset success o failure as a bussiness. A "A la Giles Martin/Never Boring" remix maybe. If it works then all the albums with available multitracks can get this treatment.

Being Devil's advocate, the DVD-A format was a reason to remix everything, and they did two albums, effectively one for the UK market and one for the US.
In doing so they found they were missing the Game's cover photo and a multitrack.
Hence Greg Brooks having a job

A "A la Giles Martin/Never Boring" remix maybe. If it works then all the albums with available multitracks can get this treatment. Given the trend of QPL in recent years, they would be able to release a box set containing the album 'A Night At The Opera' and the live 'A Night At The Odeon'...or an album of instrumentals as they did in 2022 with 'The Miracle', absolutely useless to me. The demos were very very good, but the instrumentals tracks were a "fill the gap" thing.
In the 2021 documentary '3, 2, 1...McCartney', Paul had said to Rick Rubin (about releasing an album, in this case 'Sgt. Pepper'): "And the thing is you know, the sort of thing that I was thinking at the time, and I knew the others [The Beatles] thought similarly, was that...when we'd been in Liverpool and you bought an album, it was a huge event...actually buying a vinyl album. Because, number one you have to save up lots of money to get it. Then I had a half-hour bus ride. So you'd take it out of its brown paper bag, and you'd study it on the way home. And you'd read very little liner note and very little photo. So we wanted to do something that was really value for money. And them if you're on that bus ride, you'd need a few bus rides to check this thing out".
Holy words in my opinion. And The Beatles box sets of the past six years prove it; the amount of material contained is enormous. Now I can understand that Queen doesn't have outtakes, demos or unreleased tracks available like maybe the Fab Four have, but given the plethora of live recordings in the archives I don't understand the choice not to officially release them.

Whilst on the subject of "ANATO" which track do you think is more mind blowing , "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "The Prophet's Song" ? I think I prefer the "The Prophet's Song" as it really pushes your speakers and Amp and sounds glorious as it hits the middle vocal gymnastics. However I think most will vote for "Bohemian Rhapsody" as it pushed Queen into the big league.

It blasted out of the speakers like the CD version never did. I think the remarkable thing is having both of those tracks on one side of one LP. I couldn't choose between the two.
