Hi everybody.
Below I propose an article, written by the American journalist Stephen Ford, which gives some news on various artists, including obviously Queen; this article was published in a California newspaper (of the Palm Springs-area) called The Desert Sun on April 22nd, 1976. Stephen Ford publishes a short interview with Freddie Mercury about the album 'A Night At The Opera', which still dominated the American charts almost five months after its release; Ford also points out that Queen have abandoned the magical themes of the first albums to devote themselves to a new musical direction and wonders if 'Bohemian Rhapsody' has any particular meaning. In the article, Ford also spends a few words on the projects of the four Beatles: in addition to communicating that Ringo Starr has signed with Atlantic Records (his contract with Capitol expires in January 1976), it is also written that George Harrison will tour the US at the end of the year (which never happened) and that there is no word on John Lennon's future plans. As for Paul McCartney, Ford obviously talks about Wings' highly anticipated 31-date US tour and ticket-buying rush. Enjoy your reading!
