That's the great thing about Queen. They were able to turn what might seem like awful songs on paper into genuinely enjoyable and pleasurable listening experiences

I'm not embarrassed to liking any Queen song, but some jaws may drop when I say I love "Dancer". I mean who doesn't like to sing to that whilst driving?! My favorite driving song is Gimme the Prize. I remember driving on the highway and when it got to the bagpipe guitar solo I slammed down on that gas pedal and was able to get my 1990 Buick station wagon up to a heart-stopping 65 mph. By the time I got up to speed the song was over, sure, but it was a thrill gradually gaining speed and having that solo blasting. Luckily I’ve been able to replicate that feeling in subsequent newer, more powerful cars… It REALLY IS a beautiful thing, isn't it???! I remember not "getting it" as a kid because it took me listening to an ANOTHER WORLD TOUR BOOTLEG from 98 where Brian put it in his solo bit and suddenly it dawned on me that the phaser effects were there to stimulate the pipes. I've always lovingly thought of high steps when hearing that bit. I think i even had ONE poorly recorded vocal contribution to QUEENZONE uploads when i found a karaoke version of GTP and sung along and recorded it there. Hope I can find that someday, great song. Powerful. If you're a religious nut, it's also blasphemous and greater for it - even though it's an act Took me a while to visualize the bike race climbs and falling back on BICYCLE RACE as well.... How that has never been animated? Fuqqifilleverknow... it's a beautiful musical drawing if you will Some of Brian's best. That said. I think I was mildly embarrassed to enjoy PARTY/KHASSHOGGI when growing up. But I've never been ashamed of Queen songs even when ppl in HS said "but that guy was gay" I recall listening to the MIRACLE ALBUM in full at the house (*we played it back in the car on a long drive from LA before w my mom) I spun it while playing against my oldest brother playing a Playstation game NFL GAMEDAY 97 (yes... that's old) And PARTY came on during the in between quarters part where the cheerleaders come out and the game loads ... it matched the visual so well that we both cracked tf up and kept it running laughing like morons. It was great. |

Body Language was the first Queen single I bought. 50p from a charity shop in Exmouth, Devon whilst on holiday about 10+ years ago. I actually quite like listening to it even though it is bad. I enjoy it more than Princes Of The Universe for example even though BL is terrible in comparison. In the context of Queen it's terrible, but if you say it in the context of another artist, maybe it isn't bad...
