My boyhood football hero Trevor Francis has passed away today aged 69. Early reports state that he died of a heart attack at his home in Marbella. He is best remembered as Britain's first £1m transfer when (my club) Birmingham City sold him to Nottingham Forest in 1979. He won 52 England caps and scored 12 goals for the 3 Lions – including two at the 1982 world cup. He won two European Cups with Forest - in 1979 (he scored the winner against Malmo) and in 1980. For me though, he was a terrace hero who tore defences apart in that iconic Blues "penguin kit". Between 1970–1979 he played for Blues 280 times, scoring 118 goals - he scored 2 goals on his professional debut against Stoke. The final clip is my own personal favourite of Trevor's 118 goals for blues. Rest in Peace, Trevor.

Football isn't my thing, but he was clearly a great player. R.I.P.
