Hi everybody. This is a very short article from the Italian press; I think this is the very first appearance of Queen in the Italian music press. This is the presentation to the Italian public of the English band, which appeared in the issue of Radiocorriere magazine on March 29th, 1974: the debut album 'Queen' had just been released on the Italian market by EMI Italiana (January 1974) and was appreciated by music critics, confident that Queen will have a good future. The comparison between Queen and Status Quo (which were already famous in Italy for some years) is interesting.
Below the scan and the English translation.
A DEBUT
Yet another rock band at its debut, fruit once again of that third generation of rock that is achieving extraordinary success in England. Their name is 'Queen' and they are, for the record, Freddie Mercury (piano and vocals), Brian May (guitar and vocals), Deacon John (bass guitar) and Roger-Meddows Taylor (percussion and vocals). Fortunately, Queen's rock is not just the 'noisy' and effectual one of the various Slade, T. Rex, Gary Glitter but the purer and more musical one of the 'Status Quo' type, which vaguely refers to the first Beatles. The record, titled simply 'Queen', contains some good things that bode well for the group's future. EMI Italiana label, N° 94519.

They obviously took the names from the album sleeve. First time I've seen them compared to Status Quo!
