Has anyone else on here had dealings with Jamie at Sheer Vinyl Attack? He was my go to for the Walmart Coloured Vinyls. I bought the first 3 with no issue at all. Then it all went wrong!!!
I preordered a 3 Vinyl bundle from him on eBay for Jazz, A Day At The Races and Hot Space. This was in March 2023 but as Hot Space wasn't released until June, delivery wasn't expected until late June early July.
June and July cam and went, no records and to my surprise no reply to my contacts. I opened a complaint case with eBay but as the order was over a month old I wasn't entitled to any refund, a loop hole that seems to have been exploited here. However the case did lead to a response from Jamie stating that the batch he had received of ADATR was all damaged. No problem I said just send me Jazz and HS and I will pay extra postage for ADATR when it arrives, great I thought problem solved........well no actually, 4 weeks later and still not a single record has arrived and no more contact or replies to my emails from Mr SHA Ltd.
I don't expect to see the records and have had to write off the £112.45 (Birthday Money) I sent Sheer Vinyl Attack Ltd.
Just be very careful if ordering from this guy on eBay or his website, I certainly would not recommend it unless you want nothing to show for your money!

I’ve ordered races, opera and hot space and not had any issues. Hopefully the works will arrive soon

how did you pay?
if paypal then you are protected for 6 months
if by credit card then you are also protected
if you paid by debit card, then you may be able to get your bank to do a chargeback

Did you buy through PayPal or a credit card? Both should give you some sort of support if you have not received the goods you paid for. In my opinion, it being over a month since placing the order is immaterial - in fact, I would say it's a reasonable time to wait before raising a dispute, especially given that the seller has been in contact previously. You should be able to claim reimbursement through either payment means for goods not received.
Caveat - the above is assuming similar consumer protection laws in the US, to the UK.

I also had a bad experience with Jamie at Sheer Vinyl Attack, I requested a refund of items I bought in the middle of July and only now received the refund from PayPal after I put a claim in, it took so long because he kept cancelling the refund 3 different times from his account. So resize the dispute via PayPal and after I mentioned this to PayPal they said they would take further action on his account.

Unfortunately I didn't pay through PayPal or Credit Card. I'm not sure if he can cope with the amount of orders he receives. Like I said I have brought previously from him before and was a loyal customer until this episode. His eBay feedback is usually good but then you read things like this below
AVOID this seller. Paid for 3 x Metallica vinyls 2 months ago and they haven’t been sent. Seller doesn’t reply to messages and is obviously selling items they do not intend to post. Disgusting!
Item not received after 2 months. Seller doesn’t reply to messages and is clearly selling items they either don’t have or have no intention of sending. One of the worst eBay experiences I’ve had. Avoid at all costs.
I would not be to pissed off but he's still listing the Hot Space vinyl for sale. I was going to buy all the Walmart re-issues from him but not now.
eBay were useless when I contacted them, might try my bank.

I had a terrible experience with him last year. Not only he didn't comply with the shipping terms that we had agreed with, which caused a very rare and expensive item to get almost lost. I could only "rescue" it from being definitely lost thanks to a miracle. He didn't even care. It's a long story. But all in all, I would never ever deal with him again. Never. Ever.

Just gone through some messages and this was from Jamie on the 27th July.
"FAO - Those who have purchased Walmart LPs awaiting delivery.
Due to some damaged stock arriving in England, I have been unable to fulfil every order.
Unfortunately, Walmart is currently out of stock of A Day At The Races but I reached out to them to ask when it would be back in stock. I was told it was likely within 7-14 days.
I have used other copies of Jazz and Hot Space for individual orders and I hope to have more copies of ADATR soon so that every order can be fulfilled."
and his next message was from 25th August:
"For all queries, please email me at info@sheervinylattack.com
Any emails sent to other addresses have probably been missed.
I will try to have everyone sorted before coming to England in a few weeks. I have nothing but good intentions, but nobody is perfect"!
Jamie is currently living in the USA and his family (he's English) send out UK orders when the products arrive from him.

That's fine and all but when I requested the refund initially, he agreed. But I've heard nothing via FB Messenger since, he hasn't even read my recent message sent on August 5th. I had to dispute the claim on PayPal 3 times as the refund kept being cancelled on his side. He's not ever reached out to me since to say anything regarding it at all. Shame, as he's got some nice records for sale, but after that month and a half ordeal, I'll refrain from buying in the future.

This is very surprising to hear. I've bought from (and sold to!) Jamie numerous times over many years. My items have always turned up on time, well packed and at good prices. He also pays quickly when he's buying. In all the years, I had ONE item arrive damaged, which was speedily resolved. I've bought from him via FB Marketplace, eBay and through deals outside of protected platforms. Have even sent (and received) money via the friends option on PayPal without fuss.
Messages are normally replied to quickly. There has only ever been the odd occasion where he hasn't replied for a few weeks - but he always gets back.
I'm not saying that your concerns aren't real, but I'd be very surprised if it isn't resolved amicably.
It could be that he is overwhelmed with orders atm. His suppliers could have landed him in the sh*t with stuff people have pre-ordered and he's having issues with numerous customers because of a factor he can't control.
I trust him. Give him time, he'll sort it.

All growing businesses go through stages where their capacity falls behind their order book, to some degree.
In my experience, single traders who get into that position end up either
- trying to protect their margin by continuing as is, compromising service levels until eventually customer noise increases to drown out the previous goodwill.
- accepting that growth is good and either revisiting the operating model in the context of the new scale, or just hiring someone to help, cutting margin in the short term but opening up more volume capability and therefore increasing absolute profit.
I have no dealings with this current examplar, and wish all parties well.

I’d stay well clear. My past experience for a 3 vinyl Walmart pre order, was zero vinyls and zero communication.
I would never deal with them again. I’ve tried messaging and get no reply, then a moment later they list a new item. Obviously active, just ignoring complaints.
Always pay by credit card, gives you a years worth of protection. Essential when purchasing pre order stuff.
Shame people like this exist.

I have had a quick reply off Jamie and he is promising to fulfil all outstanding orders, he has had a few personnel issues which I will not discuss on here. He is hoping to expand his business and become a reliable source for importing USA only vinyl (Not Just Queen) to the UK and Europe. Fingers crossed everything is resolved. |

Another update. So taking me completely by surprise my March order arrived today!!! Not what I originally ordered as there has been issues with the ADATR tangerine vinyl. So i've finally got the Walmart Hot Space and The Works coloured vinyls. Hopefully this means Jamie at Sheer Vinyl Attack has sorted things out and once again can be a reliable source for Queen records. Will be interesting to hear if other fans have received their orders too. So thanks Jamie and good luck in the future.

Got my cool cat order cancelled the other day. Have asked to cancel other orders but no response and then out of the blue my NOTW order that I had requested to be cancelled got shipped. Although for some reason it’s been delivered to the other side of the country ! What a shambles

This looks like a fairly low margin business (esp as he's apparently paying retail prices in the states), with rather a lot of uncontrollables (stock levels, postage time/ reliability), on items that are easily damaged in transit. Couple that with a communications strategy that appears to be intermittent at best, and that's a pretty shaky business model. |
