I don't understand why they didn't crop the image from the top instead of cutting Freddie's legs off ?
It seems to me they were just lazy and didn't bother to crop each individual shot.
I hate to be the grinch, but I'm not too impressed or convinced this is an upgrade. Maybe it's the fact that it's YouTube compression somehow affecting Indeed is the compression, the noise is there on lossless copies. Also the "4:3" version is cropped at the sides like this two images with are full resolution screenshots from the UHD Blu-Ray. (4:3 Copy UHD) (16:9 Copy UHD)

i have glitches on disc 1 (during guitar solo, glitches with sound) and on disc 2 (during timpani solo, about 10 seconds of glitches and no sound). i know a lot of people have issues so i'm wondering who do i contact. i bought it from queenonline store.

Maybe it's the fact that it's YouTube compression somehow affecting this, but I still ultimately prefer Chief Mouse's clean-up of the previous version. The 16:9 cropping is an obvious issue, but the film grain is still there - it looks like a beautiful film from 1981. The new version is just too clean (if such a thing can be said) and loses that analog feel, similar to what was done for the Get Back documentary. And it's darker, and there's less definition overall. To my eyes, the only thing that's an improvement in these two screenshots is Freddie's wristband being redder. Chief Mouse: 2024 version: It's just the YouTube compression, it looks better on my re-encoded Blu-Ray copy. I also like how they cleaned up the footage here, unlike what Peter Jackson did in the Get Back documentary, which made them look like plastic.

FFS! Just sat down to watch mine and Disc 2 (the wide-screen version) won't get past the Top Menu. In fact, there isn't a Top Menu, it's just looping where the Menu should be. 😡

At some point after a series of stopping, starting, ejecting, and replaying, mine finally worked. The menu is there, you just need to coax it out. It's like a hideously unwanted bonus activity!

I’ve had replacement discs sent and neither disc 2 will bring up the menu on my 4k Blu-ray player or even load at all on my Xbox. Disc 1 plays with blips every couple of minutes eventually. Disgraceful release

Hi, my discs wouldn’t play on my Xbox, all my other 4k discs play ok. I got in touch with queen online via email, they asked for a video of the disc not working which I have sent and they offered me a refund or replacement. I took the refund.

If you can scrape up some other cases, you're less likely to be robbed off

Yeah, I seem to be one of the handful of legit purchasers who’s had no issues, and that may well be due to the fact I don’t have a 4K Blu-ray player. I ripped my discs to play the files on my media server. I’m sure it’s easier for a machine to rip a difficult disc than to play it; it can retry failed reads until it succeeds, without having to worry about doing it all in real time.

The blu-ray issues mirror the horrible blu-ray release of Pink Floyd's The Later Years boxset.
Also, fair warning, be sure to check on the discs as they might fall apart/start breaking down like the blu-rays of Floyd's The Early Years (granted the discs started dying YEARS after the release) and The Later Years.

After a further email prompt, they responded saying there's nothing they can do, and to return the product if I want a refund, which I will do, as I'll just wait a bit then pick it up cheap off Amazon, by which time hopefully they'll have been re-pressed.
They're now asking for a review as to how their customer service did. Not just with them, but I find this really irritating. They did their job, why do they need me to applaud them for it? If I buy a toaster in a shop, I don't expect the store manager to knock on my door asking how was breakfast!
And yes, I am grumpy today, having had to deal with several jobsworths, and an Amazon delivery in twice as many boxes and double the packaging that there needed to be. 😤

I had problems playing the 4k discs but once I wipped them down with a cloth they seem to work fine now.

Well... Not having received a refund or any kind of acknowledgement of my returned item, I've just checked Royal Mail Tracking, and was presented with this as 'proof of delivery': Somehow this doesn't instill confidence that I will receive my refund any time soon. 🙄

I couldn't actually see mine there. It was in a white padded envelope.
As it happens though, I've just had an email confirming they've processed the refund.
The question now is, how will we know when these have been re-pressed? Most of the ones on Amazon have been reviewed as faulty, and I don't want to order one from somewhere else if it's not easy to return it.

I enjoy watching the audience in this show. In case anyone missed it, 9 years ago there was an article published on QOL about "The Girl in the Audience" -- the one that looks up at Freddie lovingly after Love of My Life, while holding a camera: www.queenonline.com/features/the-girl-in-the-audience-fan-feature-by-patrick-lemieuxOne thing I noticed was that there was a fan wearing a Montreal Canadiens hockey jersey, but without the team logo, and another one wearing a Boston Bruins hockey jersey, but again without the team logo. They almost look like they're playing the role of generic hockey fans not wanting to infringe on trademark laws. So strange. There was another Canadiens jersey but I couldn't tell if they had a logo or not. If this one is logo-free too, something's up. It made me think about how Freddie had the Canadiens logo on his hat and the Superman logo on his tank top. I wonder if they needed clearance for those? Probably not a big deal for a regular concert, but for shows set up specifically for filming, it's risky. As we saw with Lucasfilm getting Queen to stop using Darth Vader on stage, not everyone is on board with this kind of publicity. On an unrelated note, what is that static sound that is audible throughout the timpani solo? It seems unintentional but I hear it very clearly in the older Blu-ray and the 4K release, on headphones.
